I couldn't get there from work in time because of the commute. I was so sad because I had been wanting to work with them for a really long time! I always think about volunteering somewhere, but I'm also afraid that I won't be able to fully commit or something. That's obviously silly, but I don't want to back out when I do something. Some of the older folks in homes get very few visitors. I'd read to them. I love to read out loud. I'd do whatever I could to get a smile out of them--I just wouldn't sing. It might frighten them. Then I'm sure that I'd start working with people of all ages on creative development and how to take their ideas and turn them into a reality.
