Maybe it's a southern thing. Oh man, I used to make chili all the time, now I need to learn how to make chili beans from scratch so I can start making chili over here. I also used to use pilsbury corn bread twists because I could use them just like spoon (that quickly disappeared...), but I think they stopped making them and I doubt they're vegan :(. Your corn bread looks super yummy! When I do make it from scratch or even a mix, I always add some honey to make it just a little bit sweet. Oh side note, I'm from Texas and I totally think there should be beans in chili.
