Unless the house is already clean, for some crazy reason, we sort of deep clean. Nothing insane, but beyond just wiping the counters and vacuuming. I come from a family who can do basic cleaning before a guest, and be ok with people knowing we don’t live in a pristine house all the time, but Scott comes from a family who spends every waking second of the day cleaning their house, and would die before they let a guest see a speck of dust.

Ha ha, I’m laughing at Sophia and Jamie because I can totally relate. Even when I have company coming, I just hate. cleaning. SO MUCH. I try my best but the place is never very impressive.
Please keep this in mind when you come to check on the kitty cats and don’t be offended or (more likely) horrified!

When guests come stay with us, we deep clean and then we act like a perfectly clean home is the norm for us. I’m pretty sure everyone knows that it’s an act though.

lol, when guests arrive…I pretty much throw everything into a closet and shut it. Maybe a quick wipe down the counter.

i am so bad about this. i freak out when people come to visit and tear apart my house like a madwoman. i never had grandparents visit me (thank god) or im sure i wouldve gone OCD.

I actually _have_ cleaned my cat’s litter boxes by hand before! Wasn’t fun…

I can’t have a tree at all. My cats will jump up into it and/or knock all the ornaments down. And this is a fake tree at that! If I ever get a real tree, I can’t imagine what they’ll do then!

I always deep clean before guests. I get super paranoid! I keep things pretty tidy (clutter-less…clutter drives me NUTS) but I’m bad about dusting and the like. Who wants to spend their time dusting, ya know??

I had a friend stay over last weekend, and the hubs and i did a hard-core cleaning before our guest’s arrival. So that said, if you and Steven find yourselves in NY, you will have a clean place to stay : )

Oh man, we are obsessive guest cleaners. We are decent at keeping up with dishes and laundry and that stuff, but not good at weekly vacuuming and dusting…yep, I admitted it.
