Review coming up!

By , June 29, 2010 8:14 am

Do you remember awhile ago when I did a giveaway from CSN stores? The place that sells everythingdining room tables, rugs, a ton of houseware items… Well, they are going to let us review something – a Cuisinart Digital Kitchen Scale!

Steven has been making a lot of bread, but we haven’t shared any of the recipes yet, since we don’t have an exact way to measure the ingredients – now we will!

Do you have a kitchen scale? For what do you use it? Do you like to make homemade bread?

That’s a great idea to get from CSN – a food scale! I don’t own a food scale, but I’ve been wanting one for a really long time!

  2. Christina says:

We do have one and used it once or twice. My husband loves Alton Brown and his recipes tend to call for weight so that is what he used it for.

  3. I had a kitchen scale but it just recently broke. It was from a long time ago when we first got married and wasn’t a fancy digital one. I actually have a kitchen scale on my christmas list (yes for real)

Do you guys use a bread machine? I love making bread but not in a bread machine.

Steven had it on his BIRTHDAY list! Can you believe it? Since his birthday is in Dec., I decided to use this offer to get him something he wanted. We have a bread machine… but don’t use it. Oops 😉

Food scales are so cool!! I’ve never thought to buy one though – they just seem too fancy for me.

Here at chez Naranek, the kitchen/food scale is used almost exclusively to weigh out the cat’s food! I *used* to weigh out portions of cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios, for example) to make sure I had a strict serving of the stuff, but, ummm, that went out the window :p

  6. Susan says:

I’ve read that baking by weight is eight million times more accurate than baking with measuring cups, but I have yet to buy a scale. I’ll be interested to hear how you like it!

I want a food scale so bad, it’s not even funny. That, and a decent blender or small food processor.

  8. LiLu says:

I don’t, but I would LOVE one. So awesome!

  9. Kate says:

I do — a pretty pink one (the proceeds benefited breast cancer research)! I don’t use it much, but it has come in handy a few times when I needed really accurate measurements.

  10. We have a kitchen scale and I use it when I need to be very specific about my measurements. But I don’t use it on a day to day basis.

I have a XOX digital scale I got at Bed, Bath & Beyone. I LOVE IT!!! Not only can it do all the usual stuff but the reader part pulls out so you can see it when measuring large plates or bowls of food. Homemade bread? Don’t love making it but I do love eating it.

  12. I had a kitchen scale and loved it! But then the battery died and I have been too lazy to find a new one.. and the closest store that has it is about 30 minutes away. If I’m lucky. I always used it for measuring things like nuts and stuff.

  13. I have a dinky little kitchen scale- I would LOVE one like that!!!!

I have one and use it to weigh my flour for bread.
