Compression Socks

I finally bought compression socks!

I’ve wanted to buy some for a long time, but it took another blogger friend (Robin) writing about how much she loves hers to get me to do it.

I ordered the Zoot brand since Runner’s World recommended them in their latest issue. Here’s hoping they work! I plan on wearing these after my 11-mile run today!

Do you use compression socks? Do you feel like they help?

When/how often am I supposed to wear them?

I love my compression socks – I have bright orange ones. Over the summer when I was going on long runs, I’d wear them after my run. All day. They are seksi. 😉 Some people wear them during runs but I don’t like to get mine sweaty.

    Enjoy your 11 miler today!

Oh cool. Wear did you get the orange ones? Orange is my fave color. Seksi. LOL.

I am SO SWEATY I will not wear them during runs either!

  2. Our trip to Chicago was another short one… I do home we can meet up sometime soon!!!

I LOVE compression socks. I just won my second pair in a giveaway! I wear them all the time and I think they really work. They make my legs feel great after a long run! Good luck on the 11 miles!

I hope you do a review of them. I’ve never worn compression anything. Were they hard to get on?

(Hope you’re enjoying your 11 miles!)

I will review them! They were not as hard to get on as I though they would be. Just tough around the ankles. I hope they help.

My 11-miler was pretty good. My pace was really all over the place because I kept running with different groups. Ha. How was your 10?

I’ve never had compression socks so I’m interested to hear what you think about them.

I will let you guys know if they help at all!

I thought of you yesterday when I saw this really cute top. What top size are you? I almost bought it to send you but don’t know your size!

I have the pink “Recovery Socks” brand. I wear them (if I remember) on long run days or after races. I can’t actually tell a difference, but I do think they feel nice and tight on my monstrous calves.

Okay…dumb question, but – what exactly are compression socks for? I don’t struggle with shin splints (should seriously knock on wood here) but I’m wondering if they would still be good for me, anyway, since I have had about every other injury in the book???

They are supposed to help boost circulation in your legs, to return it to your heart and remove lactic acid. I guess. 😉

  9. I love my compression socks. I actually got a 2nd pair recently! I wear them after long runs, and on plane rides. I was actually spurred to buy some after an international flight where my legs swelled adn it was very uncomfortable for 12 hours. I do not like worrying about DVT…

Anyway, yesterday was the first day I wore them out DURING my long run. Post run, I switched to my other pair of compression socks. My calves are not sore at all today!

Ooo, wearing them on a flight is an excellent idea! I need to get two pairs if I want to wear them while running. Have you found them anywhere for a decent price?

I do wear compressions socks. Bright pink ones! Do I think they help…good question. I don’t know. They feel good when I’m wearing them, and they’re bright pink. That’s good enough for me! Ha! I typically wear mine after my long runs.

Half of my running clothes are bright pink! (well, it feels that way sometimes!) It’s a very energizing color!
