Six Year Blogiversary! / iTunes Giftcard Giveaway

By , July 21, 2011 6:49 pm

Ahh! You know what I remembered during my run today*? It’s my six year blogiversary! I’ve been blogging for six whole years. Wow!

I think I say it every year, but the best thing about blogging is the people you meet. I’ve met my best and closest friends through blogging! And there are a ton of you I want to meet in person. Thanks for reading and supporting me!

As a thank you, I am giving away two $10 iTunes giftcards (there will be two winners)!

(Yeah, those are the actual cards – I apologize for any teeth marks on the pink one)

  1. For your staycation, you should visit all the great local eateries and try a meal you have never tried there! And, you should go swimming with Jen and Bobbi!

  2. bobbi says:

Um you should…..COME OVER AND SWIM! 🙂 Happy blogversary!

  3. Stephany says:

SLEEP IN! That is what you should do on your staycation. 🙂 I just love sleep.

Happy 6 year Blogiversary! My 2 year is coming up, although I’ve been blogging about 4-5 years total. So fun!

  4. Wow, kudos to you for running in this heat! Happy six year blogiversary- that’s awesome! Hmm, on your two staycation days I would take one day to play tourist in your city and go somewhere that you take for granted. On the other day I would do something outdoorsy (like go hiking) unless it is super hot out, in which case I would go to the movies for a double showing. I love movies! 🙂

  5. Michel says:

If I had a staycation and it wasn’t hotter than the sun outside but still nice I would go to the beach or find someone to go boating with!

  6. RunningLaur says:

    8 miles – win!!
6 years is pretty epic too. I’m very glad that you have youre wonderful little blog so that I can spy in on your life 😉 or, you know, be your awesome friend 🙂

As far as your staycation, I’d vote either be totally nice and relaxed (see: relax by/in the pool and read and the like) or do something little that’s fun (like a museum that has air conditioning and really cool stuff inside)!

I just realized that both of my suggestions are semi-educational. Ha, shows what a nerd I am! For the record, you could totally read a gossip magazine or something non-educational by the pool!

  7. Erin says:

8 miles??? Okay, now you’re making me feel like a slacker 😛

So for your two staycation days you should stay inside on the couch. Yeah, that’s it.

  8. Kierstan says:

I think you should go swimming with Jen and Bobbi! 🙂

Happy anniversary! I think you should relax and cook during your staycation!

  9. kapgar says:

Considering the weather around here, what you should do during your two day staycation is NOTHING THAT REQUIRES GOING OUTSIDE.

  10. I was actually thinking about a staycation sometime soon (or for me, using sick/mental health days!). I’d go to the Lake Michigan beach, bake in the sun a bit and read a trashy novel.

    • kilax says:

Totally do a staycation! I am feeling so much better already and it’s only day 1 🙂

  11. Holly says:

Your first priority should be SLEEPING IN. Then, not commuting. Once those are accomplished, I think you should start a netflix marathon with some awesome tv show (I suggest Friday Night Lights because I was recently enamored with it myself.)

  12. Amy says:

I am looking forward to meeting you too, one of these days – hopefully for the Illinois marathon weekend – I am tentatively planning to come for it next year or the year after!
Hmmm… now what to do on your staycation? Go to Geneva Illinois and have lunch at the Little Traveler (if it still exists) – I lived in Geneva 8 years growing up and having lunch at the Little Traveler was a big treat!

I just googled it and it still exists: http://www.littletraveler.com/
    Hugs!

  13. I would also suggest you hang out with Jen or Bobbi! And sleep in!

  14. Congrats on your blogiversary!

I say you should take one of those staycation days to do… NOTHING. Just read, drink tea/coffee, watch trashy daytime TV, maybe go for a walk.

  15. Kandi says:

    That’s a long time!
I think you should relax, spend time with friends, Steven, and Data. Maybe get in a run or a bike ride. 🙂 Oh, and tend to your garden (and post an update on it!)

  16. dad says:

Ride the jet ski and jump in the river. Must sleep in also.

  17. Steve A says:

Sit on your butt and eat the NY bagels you will take back : )

  18. You should have one day of relaxation for sure: get a pedi/mani (if that’s your thing), read magazines, sit outside (if it ever cools off around here), etc. I hope you have a great staycation! I know I have appreciated mine this summer.

  19. Kelly says:

Hmm… you live in Chicago, right? My favorite thing to do in Chicago is Second City.

I’m originally from Naperville. You could go down there, feed the ducks on the riverwalk, and go swimming at the beach. 🙂

  20. gina says:

You should take a long nap and wake up cranky 🙂

  21. sizzle says:

We’ve been blogging just about the same time. Hooray! Aren’t we considered veterans yet? 😉

IF I had a staycation, I would do something in my town that I had never done- visit a park, go to a coffee shop/restaurant, or do a tourist-y thing. But I’d also spend a day getting a massage, mani/pedi, and treat myself to a latte. Or! I would spend the day reading and having a picnic.

  22. Courtney Ilax says:

I think since u are such a amazing sis in law! I feel that u should enjoy ur time with steven, an together find a new recipe an just have fun with it! 2nd day U should have the day to do whatever u please. If that means be nacked all day :), or go for a lil run to make urself feel good or just watch a movie, go shoping, go out to eat, take a bath, do ur nails, blog a lil bit, get ur hair done, makeup done, bike ride, work on the datsun with steven… Anything works. Can’t wait to read all about it!

  23. Lindsey Reedy says:

Two days – time to relax by the pool, catch up on some reading, and make cupcakes and watch a movie…man I am getting jealous!
