Random Thoughts Thursday XV

  • Something about the photos Steven has been taking for my end of April fashion post give me the impression he is getting a bit tired of taking them. I just can’t pinpoint what it is…

  • April fashion post wise, yesterday was the first time I changed out of what I was wearing from the photo. I had a jean skirt on, but it was quite cold in our house so I put on sweat pants and a fleece jacket. Today was the first time I wore an outfit I have worn before (in March) – the outfit I had in mind for today just didn’t quite work out. I am still having fun trying to be creative with my wardrobe, but sometimes the things I imagine look good in my head really don’t when I try them on.
  • I thought you guys would like to know that I found some shorts. Erin took me shopping on Saturday. I tried shorts on a Gap, Eddie Bauer and Old Navy (in that order). I have to admit, I was disappointed when the very first ones we tried on at the Gap were not winners. But! I like the Eddie Bauer ones. And they were only $16.99 each, holla! Ignore the fact that my shirt is too tight (also ignore that I have this shirt on in the photo above, and while you are at it, ignore how tired I look in those pics – I did just wake up from a nap when Steven took them on Sunday):

  • We had wine to celebrate our shopping success. I am still a lightweight. But! My 20-miler the next day was a success.
  • I worked from home yesterday and decided to take a nap during my lunch break. Even thought it was during my allotted lunch break, it felt wrong. And it didn’t really make me feel any better. But damn, I am so tired lately! The only thing that seems to give me energy is moving (working out, standing up, etc.). Maybe next time during lunch I will take Data on a walk. In the meantime, I can always count on him to be my nap buddy.

  • A few weeks ago, when Steven was working from home (and I was downtown) he heard some derphole drive through our neighborhood and crash in to something. This tree. Wth. That tree is right before the curved part of the street, as in, you should be slowing down to follow the curve. What the heck was this guy doing? I was impressed that he stayed there and called the cops, but I am still sad that we have one less tree in our already cookie cutter young (tree) suburban neighborhood.

I’ve been doing the April challenge. I’m on day 12 (Since I started late). So far so good. No photos though.
I’ve never taken a nap while working from home but I have taken a nap during lunch at desk at the office. Haha.
I can’t believe Data took a photo of you napping! At least it’s really cute.

  2. I like the shorts! They look really good.

I wish Mosie would nap with me! I wish I got naps. 🙂

OMG! I can’t stop sleeping either!! I am starting to think it is a medical problem!!

  4. Those shorts look really great on you! Yay for finding some that work! Chris always hates when I ask him to take photos and I try to arrange myself so he doesn’t have to get up. Haha. Now with my self timer app, maybe I will annoy him less (but probably not). 🙂

But it’s stil sometimes difficult to find things to prop the iPhone on! At least now it has a square frame. That makes it easier. FWP!

Bummer! I thought you were gonna say the wind took your tree down. I love EB. Was just looking at their catalog…
I have no clue how to use a wine opener so you’re in good company. 🙂

I always think I’ll have more energy as it gets nicer out, but I haven’t made it past 10pm yet this week. I got a little stand-up desk thing to use working at home and it really helps me when the mid afternoon slump hits.

We had a sign that someone knocked over near my work that took 6 weeks to put back. I see all sorts of stuff that was knocked over by a careless driver here. Crazy that drivers are that stupid to run into stuff.

  8. Erin says:

Hey, fashion failures are part of the deal! There are plenty of times I think something will look good in my head and then it doesn’t work so well in real life. Especially sometimes when I see a pic of it!

I hope you start to feel better when you work from home more (if that’s what you decide to do) because you can get more sleep.

I keep getting up early to run when I work from home. If I do do it more, I need to make sure I sleep in some of the days!

  9. Emily says:

That’s terrible that the driver ran into the tree like that, the tree looks so sad. =(

Great shorts, very flattering fit! YAY for scoring excellent shorts!!! You are all set for the warmer temperatures once they finally arrive for good!

I love your fashion posts. Admittedly I get a little lazy about my outfits since my office is usually so deserted. But seeing your photos always inspires me to liven up my look a little bit with accessories, etc. Please do keep your fashion posts coming!!!

Aww, thank you about the fashion posts. My office is really desserted too. We have a really agressive work from home policy, and with travel… there are days hardly anyone is there!

  10. What is with this week!!! I AM SO TIRED TOO!

  11. Anne says:

You found shorts! I feel like that in and of itself is a huge accomplishment.

Sorry you’ve been so tired lately. I had that problem back in college and found out I was anemic, so maybe try eating something full of iron?

  12. Xavierism says:

Love the shorts! Hmmm…maybe I should take a few pics of myself in my Daisy Dukes now that we’re expecting 100 degree temps this weekend. NOT! Eddie Bauer is a fave – will have to visit their store this weekend. I’m ready to buy a few fashion items for Summer. Banana Republic is where I always go but I feel I need to change things up.

Wine…ohhhh…I’m so ready for a glass of vino! Ever do races with courses along wineries and vineyards? I did the Temecula Vally Half Marathon. I love this area but it was rainy, cold & windy on the day of this race and I completely wilted. Awww… I need a glass of wine now. Ha! Have a great weekend!

Love the shorts! Very nice. Brian doesn’t take photos of me often, usually I just use the self timer OR I forget to take pictures which has been happening lately.

  14. Steven says:

I think my photography skills are awesome…I think it is artistic ability, not annoyance shining through.

  15. Amy says:

    Cute shorts, poor tree!

  16. Mica says:

    “Derphole” hahahaha!

Also, I love that you’re taking a catnap with a cat under a cat blanket!
