Lessons learned:

  • Sleep > running (sometimes). I could not get up at 3:30 am to run on Wednesday or Thursday (surprise, surprise). I didn’t want to get up early (5:30) on Friday. Or Sunday (5:30). I would be lying if I said I was not disappointed my mileage was so low this week, but I really needed my sleep. And I was too busy the rest of those days to work out. Oh well!

I hear ya, it’s hard to get out of bed most mornings.

Love the medal from the race- its really cute 🙂

Im also NOT a morning runner… Ive been trying to get some miles in before work, but fail most mornings.

  3. bobbi says:

Well, you ran 2 more miles than I did, and YOU aren’t training for anything 🙂 Sometimes these weeks just happen.

Missed you after the race…did Andrew tell you that I was yelling “KIM” at some other lady who just happened to be standing next to him? I thought it was you, just because he was standing next to her. Andrew was looking at me like I was on crack, lol. That’s when I knew my brain was so cold I needed to get home…

He did not tell me that! I think he was frustrated that he was waiting around for me. I was trying to see Terry finish and he came in much later than I thought and poor Andrew was waiting at the food tent for me.

this looks like a pretty successful first half-marathon for your brother-in-law. with a pretty cool medal 🙂

  5. Emily says:

The Wisconsin Half looked like a blast, very cute pictures and very unique medal! How did your BiL enjoy the experience?

Every week when I read your training recaps I am amazed at your dedication. Waking up at 3:30 AM to go running? Good lord! I have been balking just at the idea of waking up at 5:00 AM on Saturday mornings to participate in CARA’s Marathon training program!

I think he really liked it! He did well and was not too sore the next day 🙂

I do hate waking up early, but it’s a huge part of my routine. Well, most days. Not so much this week.

  6. Losing Lindy says:

I am so excited for your BIL. he did great. BTW..did you see I am doing my first giveaway? I believe they are Vegan.

  7. Amy says:

Very cool medal! Was your BIL happy?

  8. Erin says:

Well, I think you had a great week if that means anything 🙂 And it looks like you and Andrew had a good time at his first half marathon, too. So that’s definitely a huge plus.

I know this is an old post, but I had to say I LOVE that Prefontaine quote.
