ShowerPill Review & Giveaway

I’ll never have to take a shower again! MUAH HA HA!!!

Seriously, if one thing is true about me, it’s that I hate taking showers*. Okay TWO things that are true about me – I hate taking showers and I get really stinky when I work out. Like, really, really bad. I am not self conscious about many things, but this is one of them.

So when ShowerPill contacted me about their Athletic Body Wipes, I kind of thought it was a joke that someone was playing on me. Like, someone made up a fake product, created a fake website, and a fake email, to send to me and tease me about the fact that I am so freaking stinky. Seriously… I thought this.

But! It was not a joke! The ShowerPill does exist! It was created by three former college football teammates who made sure to supplement their body in every way possible to stay in tip top shape for their sport – but felt like they needed something more for their hygiene. So they created the ShowerPill, an individually packaged athletic body wipe. Apparently they named it after an inside joke after players who joked about wishing they could take a “pill” to clean themselves after a tough workout. I like the story behind the name!

The box came with 10 individually packed wipes. Each wipe is folded, and the instructions are to keep it folded as you clean different body parts, but use each fold on a different part and flip, fold over and repeat.

I will admit. I was doubtful about the ShowerPill’s effectiveness until I tried it. I went on a seven mile run, got all nice and sweaty and came in and gave it a try. And lo and behold I really liked it.

Like, really liked. Much better than baby wipes**, which I usually drag around with me, which leave me feeling kind of sticky and not so fresh after a workout.

The ShowerPill didn’t leave a weird residue and cleaned me up really quick. And I didn’t feel weird putting my street clothes back on. I actually felt fresh. And Steven even smelled me and said it left me smelling good. That is the nicest compliment he has ever given me!

He even used one after his workout!

I can think of a lot of times I would have liked to have these. Ragnar, after a blogger meetup followed by a Metra ride, any run that involves socializing after… I have been trying to find a way to hide my stink for years and I think I finally found it! I think I am going to take these when I go camping in June. Well, if I don’t use them all first.

ShowerPill is offering a 10% discount off of their product on Amazon if you use the code RUNNERS2. This code is good until May 27.

I think reviews are kind of lame without a giveaway, so I am sponsoring a giveaway of one 10 pack from Amazon with my own money.

ShowerPill Athletic Body Wipes Giveaway Rules

  2. Required to enter the giveaway: tell me when you think you will use the ShowerPill.
  3. This giveaway is open until 5:00 PM CST on Wednesday May 23.  I will announce the winner on Thursday May 24.

Note: ShowerPill provided this product for me to review, but these thoughts are my own.

*but I love baths, but baths take longer…
**Steven and I were talking about the difference between these and baby wipes. Baby wipes are a bit more moist and leave a sticky feeling (imo). These are moist as well, but leave me feeling fresher.

  1. This is what I need for my lunch time runs. Totally.

  2. Losing Lindy says:

I just joined the gym in my office building, so this might make me get another 1/2 mile in before I have to get back to work! 🙂

I have heard about these. I am impressed they contacted you. I need to contact some other companies so I can do another giveaway

    • kilax says:

Sometimes companies contact me but most of my giveaways are self-hosted (I pay for them) – like this one! So you could always try that too 🙂

  3. After races! You have to get back in the car all nasty!

  4. Stephany says:

Such a neat idea! They would be perfect after races or even after a tough workout when you can’t shower right away. It might even help me get some lunchtime workouts in! 🙂

  5. kandi says:

What a great idea! I would have liked to have one after my marathon! A long metro ride followed by 20 minutes in the car and I was smelling pretty rank.
I would use them for camping and after runs when I have to get back in the car.

  6. Kristina says:

    Great review!
I would love to have a shower pill after a trail run or a long bike ride that then require me to get back into my car and stink it up for the drive back home! Especially because we really like to stop for lunch (or some meal), and then I feel kind of gross in the restaurant!

  7. gina says:

Well this could make going to the gym during lunch more tempting!

I guess the ShowerPill would eliminate my job of going to get you baby wipes after a marathon, lol! Sigh.

  8. Amy says:

I could have used those when I ran a 15K in Holland and had to take a 2 hour train ride back home! I felt really gross and stinky but there was no where to freshen up.

  9. Melissa says:

I just want to commiserate with the STANK. Seriously. Poor Matt and anyone that has to interact with me after any kind of workout (except maybe yoga…unless it’s outdoor and/or hot yoga…). Matt is so easy going and would never hurt my feelings intentionally…be he is like “geez babe…did something die?” LOL. At least I can laugh at myself! But I’d prefer not to stink! I am totally ordering these right now.

  10. Melissa says:

And just like that they were really ordered 🙂

  11. Gingerfoxxx says:

Hopefully i would use them after a long run with you, but before we eat our delicious red robin fries.

    • kilax says:

      RED ROBIN! YUMMM!!!

How was the marathon? I was thinking about you all day yesterday! I tried to look up your results but the site was being el stupido.

  12. I would use these after a lunch time workout!!

  13. I think I would use this product after a run when I go to meet my MIL for breakfast. I love our breakfasts and this seems like a great “in between” clean up idea!

  14. kelsey says:

I love showering, if I could I would live in the shower but since I can’t maybe I can use these when I’m not in the actual shower so it’s like I’m showering 24 hours a day?

  15. When I used to go for runs at lunch time at work this would be PERFECT! But so many times here in Manila I have to make plans for “later” because I need to workout and give me enough time for a shower (those tech tees do make you stink like high heaven, no?). This would be perfect for those days, so I could shower after being out in public!

  16. Ian says:

But what did Data have to say after you used the ShowerPill!!

Sounds like something I could use after any sweaty summer Chicagoland run. My wife can tell when I come through the door 🙂 I hate showers but then I am from England. Hate baths too so showers it is before the wife kicks me out LOL

  17. Michel says:

I think i would use it to hand out to the old farts at the gym. stinky boys.

  18. J says:

I could have so used these after the half marathon when we all went to brunch right after the race. I got to change my clothes at least but I know I still smelled from the race. I would use it whenever I had a social thing after races – which isnt that much but you never know!!

  19. Xaarlin says:

OOH those sound cool! I kinda hate taking showers too.. mainly washing my hair. I think these would work for an early AM run- or if I went for a run during lunch.

  20. Erin says:

These would be PERFECT for post-lunch-run in the summer. I usually use make-up remover wipes but I bet these would do a better job.

  21. shelley says:

This will be great after my post TRAIL workouts where i’m so hot and stinky I can’t stand myself..BTW, I just went to Amazon and bought a pack..thanks for the suggestion!!!

  22. Lauren says:

This would be helpful after cycling.

  23. bobbi says:

Laughing at Sara – I was going to say “post run but pre Red Robin” too! 🙂

  24. Cary says:

These are brilliant. In the summertime, I try to combine my runs with my outdoor-beer garden-social time, so I tend to plan my runs strategically to end at a bar to meet a friend. If I can shove one of these into my big running top pocket, I can spare my friends of smelly post-run me! 🙂
