Notes:

  • I think Saturday was my coldest run of the year – in the mid 20s! I love running in the cold weather! Can’t wait until we have some snow on the ground to play in too!
  • I am enjoying taking it easy with running this month. Even though I raced every weekend in November (and three times in the past 8 days), it was just for fun!

Saturday was cold, brrr! I paced a 1/2 marathon and most of us were unable to feel our extremities. Way to go getting in work outs with friends. It always feels that much easier.

I can’t remember – did you say you were doing Schaumburg or another half? Hee hee – I must be honest, I did say during Saturday’s 5K that I was surprised my toes were cold! Time to bring out the warmer socks! 🙂

      • Jean says:

Yep, it was Schaumburg. Cold, but it was a great day for a run and I had a blast meeting people. The only slight negative was the people that must have fallen off their planned pace that would sigh when I passed them with my little stick. One lady looked right in my face and said “sh*t!” She did pick it up after that though so I guess I did my job, lol!

  2. I love the variety in your workouts!

Oh man, I was just thinking today how I’m not sure I’ll be OK to run outside this winter. The treadmill and I are about to become best of friends!

    • Jean says:

Treadmill? Boo! Get yourself some warm layers and you will love running outside. When it snows it’s like running in a snowglobe! I hate the dreadmill…can you tell?

    • kilax says:

You should give outdoor running a try! Maybe you’d like it! 🙂

  3. Anne says:

That’s so cool you got to work out with friends all week! I guess my only solo workout was my run today – otherwise it was running with my friend or taking a class/training at the gym.

And I’m surprised to find out that I actually like running in the cold too! Today I had free reign of the parks I ran through, since most people were inside staying warm and/or watching the Bears game, and I just feel better in the cold. Though I don’t know if I could do it in weather much colder than this… we’ll see.

Way to go! I especially love working out with a friend, it just makes it more fun! Because it’s like a social activity, and the workout is the bonus. 🙂

  10. Christina says:

I ran in the snow yesterday for the first time and I enjoyed it, however the cold was a rude awakening haha! Looks like you had a fun training week.

Yet another fantastic training week!!! And that is awesome that you got to spend so much time working out with friends. There is no better way to catch up with friends than over a workout!!!
