Notes:

  • Does anyone else have an upset stomach after running fast? That usually happens to me after racing a 5K, and it sure did on Saturday! My stomach was cramping up for most of my 20 miler with Erin (and I didn’t eat any candy!). I still had a great time on the run though!
  • I am so used to running in the dark in the am, it feels weird when I run in the daylight now!
  • My Monday 8 miler was run at my previous half marathon PR pace… I am thinking I could go for a half marathon PR this year if I want. I have five half marathons coming up – one with Rachel, one by myself, one pacing my BIL, one as part of a Half Ironman relay, and one pacing Anne (Ahh! I miss running with Anne! How long has it been?).
  • I still really want that sports massage! And not gonna lie – I felt really worn out on Sunday this week!

No wonder you were worn out – you’ve had a HUGE week!! My stomach doesn’t get upset unless I add coffee:) Something I seldom do! It looks like you have a busy schedule ahead.

  2. Kim says:

That’s a crazy week! Good job!!!

  3. Marcia says:

What a week! Is that a 5k PR I see? You are SO speedy! I love it! Add me to camp upset stomach post fast ru

  4. You’re a stud. No doubt about it. I definitely feel crampy/puky after a short, intense race. I even ralphed after a 4-mile race. I rock.

  5. J says:

HUGE week girly! How many miles did you run! Nice job on the 20+ miles on Saturday!

  6. My stomach gets upset often after races, I get that blah feeling that makes me not want to eat. Usually feel better after I suck it up and choke some food down that is fatty and higher in proteins. Usually.

27 miles! You’re crazy! And you’re hitting some pretty serious mileage these days! Looks like its working for you with 2x 5k PR’s, and not to mention you’re looking mighty svelt these days too!

  7. Kandi says:

Running fast makes my stomach upset in the moment (as in, during the race) but it doesn’t seem to linger. BUT, I’ve never done a fast 5k and then done a long run later in the day.
Oh, and way to go on that super long Saturday!! Your paces were awesome!

  8. Anne says:

I tried to add up your weekly mileage and lost count around 46 – I’m so in awe of you! No wonder you felt so tired by yesterday though.

I missed running with you too this week! But we’ll run again soon 🙂

  9. Maggie says:

Considering I call 5K pace “puke speed” … yeah, I can understand stomach cramping if you attempt at TWENTY MILER after a 5K PR. Also, OF COURSE you felt tired the following day! If you didn’t, you’d be some kind of Superwoman. =P Although I do think you are a super woman.

  10. Erin says:

The next time you make your list of crazy things you have convinced me to do, do NOT blame me for causing you to run an ultra on Saturday 🙂 Just kidding. I love that you did that for me.

  11. Alyssa says:

You did all that on Saturday!?! My goodness!
After hard efforts (or super long) my stomach will feel off. I usually feel better after I eat, but I have to force myself to do it.

  12. Michele says:

I don’t run fast. And I’m for sure just gonna go slow from now on, especially if it’ll make my stomach crazy!

Awesome week though!! And I bet you are exhausted!!
