Myo-Release Ball Giveaway

By , April 9, 2013 6:14 am

On Saturday, I attended my multisport club’s clinic “Benefits of Self Massage,” given by one of the personal trainers (who’s also a massage therapist). She showed tools to use for myofascial release, and even showed us how we can help massage a friend!

Moving on…

We went through these tools:

  • tennis ball
  • tennis ball in a sock (for accessibility to back)
  • two tennis balls taped together
  • foam roller
  • the Stick
  • Myo- Release Ball

What the heck. I had not even heard of the last one, the Myo-Release Ball. How is that possible?

The Myo-Release Ball is made out of foam… like a foam roller (derp). And you use it like it’s a foam roller, only, since it’s a small little ball, you can really target in on areas. My right gluteus maximus tends to get sore, so I sat on the ball for a good amount of time (like this), and felt awesome afterward.

Anyway. I won’t get in to the benefits of myofascial release, as I am not a certified personal trainer (yet!) or massage therapist (errr…), but I really like this tool and went out and got one right away.

I love my foam roller! But even more than that, I love the shoes you have on!

  2. I use a tennis ball on my feet on occasion, or whatever round toy is nearby at the time. I also will use a rolling pin like you would a foam roller. Feels so good!

  3. I have a foam roller and use a tennis ball for my feet.
I am already a FB fan.
I shared your giveaway on FB!

  4. Diane says:

Hmm, I won recently but I’m entering anyway. LOL.
I have a shiatsu pillow, which is nice for my back, but my right piriformis is a mess. (I’m going to the doc this weekend about it–pretty sure it’s from the way I sit at work) I need something a little more targeted to work it out!

  5. J says:

I love my foam roller but often use my tennis ball or lacrosse ball for my pirformis. I tend to get knots in my pirformis so sitting on the foam roller is just not enough pressure. The lax ball really works well since its not a soft as the tennis ball but it hurts.
And I already like your facebook page!

  6. Chris says:

Thanks for the great giveaway, Kim! I use a massage stick for my legs and feet; works well for me. The ilaxStudio has been ‘liked.’ 😉

  7. Rachel says:

My, what perky myo-release balls you have!

My favorites are the super sophisticated tennis ball and frozen water bottle. This would be just a slight step up 🙂

I like your facebook page and I’m going to share this right meow.

  8. You want me to massage myself with a ball? Like I haven’t heard that one before. Heh.

I’d like to try this or a foam roller. I’d like to roll out. Roll out.

  9. Kandi says:

I only have a foam roller (probably from a suggestion of yours a couple years ago). I actually used it on Sunday! (I’m a slacker when it comes to that stuff). I really should get a lacrosse ball too.

  10. I already like your FB page. Duh.

  11. penny says:

My favorite would be a tennis ball and foam roller

  12. Anne says:

Nice balls! I’d love one of those. My favorite self massage tool is one of Bob’s old softballs (not creepy, swear!), but the foam roller is nice too. And of course I like you on FB.

  13. penny says:

I use a tennis ball and foam roller

  14. penny says:

    I like you on fb

  15. Jen says:

I use a roller hockey ball because I need something hard. 🙂

  16. Kate says:

Oh wow, this giveaway is heaven-sent. I’m training for my first marathon and how much my IT band bugs me occurs in direct inverse proportion to how much I beat it up before & after every run with my foam-roller and — my latest find — a baseball. I hate it (because it hurts and now I have a baseball-shaped bruise on my quad). And I love it (because it lets me run).

    Love your blog!!

  17. Kim says:

We have a massager that Dave uses for his feet but this would be so good for him!

  18. bobbi says:

Since I purchased one, I am not entering – but I wanted to get on here and say EVERYONE!!! YOU REALLY WANT THIS!!

    It’s that good 🙂

  19. Kim says:

Already like your facebook page – OF COURSE. 🙂

  20. Heidi Nicole says:

I really do like my foam roller – although it’d be nice if I didn’t have to contort myself so oddly on the floor! Plus, the stick does a number of overworked calves!

  21. Heidi Nicole says:

I already like your FB page!

  22. lauren says:

I have a foam roller and The Stick.

  23. lauren says:

I already liked you on FB.

  24. Sizzle says:

That picture of you with ball boobs made me laugh. 🙂

  25. kapgar says:

    Love Rachel’s comment.

Oh and I already like your FB page so I can’t keep liking it, can I?

My favorite self massage (please don’t think I’m weird) is a shower. I get it really got and let the water pound on my neck, shoulders, an the base of my skull. Awesomesauce.

  26. Adrienna says:

I love my foam roller, but I really liked the Rumber Roller. It’s kinda pricey and seems like you could hurt yourself, but I like how it’s more targeted than my roller. The ball looks like it might work out really well.

  27. Alyssa says:

I pictured the ball to be much smaller so thanks for that awesome second picture of you with the balls lol.
I really like using golf balls or other small balls on my feet. I read an article that said you are supposed to stand on them with one under each foot, but I cannot take that much pressure.
I really like using my personal boyfriend hands and elbows (ow!) for massage but those aren’t available to me very often.

I already like you on facebook.

  28. Erin says:

    Let’s see…

I use a lacrosse ball to really get into certain spots on my hip and butt.

I like you on Facebook 🙂 And I shared the post!

  29. Mica says:

Ooh, I was intrigued by Erin’s lacrosse ball when she showed it to me. I’ll have to get one!

I have one of those little nubby green (golfball-sized) balls. I like to roll it around to loosen up my feet while I’m at my desk. Except Bodger sort of nom-nomed it,and it’s looking a little sad on one side.

I also like you on Facebook!

  30. Michelle says:

Done, Done, and Done! Shared on my movin’ page as well! I must say, I love your cute shoes…hehe

  31. Losing Lindy says:

I used a frozen golf ball on my feet sometimes
And you know I like your facebook!

  32. Brittani says:

I need to get this out there first that you have the CUTEST shoes on! Also, I really enjoy the back scratcher that I got in my Easter basket. Seriously, I could sit at the computer all day long as long as I have that thing going on my back.

  33. I love my hard foam roller at the gym that’s LONG! My favorite thing to do is to lie on my back with it along my spine, and chill for 5-10 minutes. Hard work. (I do that after the required actual foam rolling of legs, etc).

I like you on facebook!!! ANd I’ve promoted your giveaway on Facebook!

  34. chezjulie says:

I keep two tennis balls under my desk at work and during the day I take my shoes off and roll them under my arches. Helps with plantar fasciitis!

  35. I try to use the foam roller atleast once a week.. and it def helps my back and thighs. Im urious about this myo release ball now.. lol

I already liked your FB page!

  36. Beth says:

Haha, love the shot of you holding the balls. I thought I’d heard of almost every self-massage product out there, but I’ve never heard of the Myo-Release balls. My favorite product is probably the Trigger Point Quadballer, but I also find myself stealing the tennis balls my dogs play with to massage kinks out.

  37. Would love to try this! Your ball boobs are hilarious.

  38. Leah says:

I love to hate the foam roller!

  39. Michele says:

I love my foam roller, I’d love to try out the new “balls”! LOL!!

I also posted your contest on my FB page!

  40. Maggie says:

Haha nice “boob” picture 🙂 My favorite non-creepy self-massaging thing is the foam roller. No, the stick. No … foam roller. No … both. Is that allowed?
