Notes:

  • I have actually done speedwork every week for the last four weeks! This is very impressive… for me. Ha ha. I wonder how long I will keep it up?! My prediction is that I will stop after the Wisconsin Half on May 3rd.
  • Every morning when I wake up and stretch, I have really weird cracking around my neck and clavicle! I stretch on the days that I teach strength classes, but that’s it, so I decided to do some yoga at home this morning. YAWN.
  • Besides riding my bike more this spring, I am looking forward to playing on a softball team in May! It’s something Steven and I have talked about doing for a few summers! I hope it’s as fun as I remembering it being from childhood! Is anyone else playing any team sports this spring or summer?
  • Aww, that makes me think of when Steven and I were on a bowling league in 2008, and it was just the two of us, because we hadn’t made many friends out here yet and didn’t know anyone else to be on our team. Things have really changed! I feel grateful we have so many local friends now!

Aww, you were really tired this week.

    What is a 1/2/3 ladder?

    • kilax says:

LOL, what do you mean? From what I said on FB?

I just did an up ladder – 1:00 min interval, 2:00 min interval, 3:00 min interval.

      • Heather says:

That and you mentioned feeling tired/out of energy in your commentary on your workouts twice in this recap!

And I don’t know what that is, I’ll have to go google it, haha! *ignorant runner*

        • kilax says:

Ha ha. Yeah. I think I was WAY thrown off from being up late last Sunday to watch the Oscars! And now DST… gah 🙁

Ladder intervals? Just like normal intervals but they increase or decrease in length/duration as you go “up” or “down” the ladder 🙂

  2. I recognize one of those faces! Hooray for running friends.

So … is it weird that I totally did a double take when I saw the yoga in your log. I was all, like, “What’s up with that?” And then you told me. So thanks.

I would love to play on a league but I think I’ve gotten too fearful in my old age. Plus, I’m clumsy as shit and would probably bust my nose.

    • kilax says:

Ha ha! You definitely know me! You probably won’t see it very often!

LOL! So… play with a face mask? You could wear a catcher’s mask the whole time! 🙂

  3. Honestly I am impressed with all of your workouts this week. Great job!!

  4. Xaarlin says:

Ooh team sports sound fun! I bet softball will be super fun! (I have no coordination for that sort of thing so yeah.. Maybe i’d stick with bowling 🙂

hmm, I think the speedwork will continue to grow on you and post WI, you will continue with it. 🙂

    YOGA?!?!?!?

    • kilax says:

Ha ha! You are very optimistic about the speedwork! 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Sigh. I know. Shh 😉

      Are you still taking dance?!

  5. Erin says:

I’m interested to hear about how softball goes! Is the team made up of friends or did you join a random team? I joined a random team in junior high and hated it. I’m no good at team sports 🙂

    • kilax says:

It’s a team made up of friends 🙂 And it’s a non-competitive league so we’ll just be out there to have a good time 🙂

  6. jan says:

Great week! I hope you enjoyed a nice warm run today!

  7. bobbi says:

Thanks again for joining me on Saturday. It was SO NICE to catch up with you and to have company on a run that didn’t feel amazing during but felt AHHHMAZING afterwards. Muah!

  8. Michael says:

I’m jealous of all your workout company! Congrats on the 4 weeks of speedwork! That’s great. It’s hard to stay dedicated to it!

  9. Valerie says:

Yay for runs with friends! I wonder if the snow will melt before Sunday?!

    • kilax says:

I will be surprised if it is – there is just so much of it! I bet it will be a few weeks before we can hit the trails, but maybe I will be wrong! (I have plans to meet someone for snowshoeing on Friday, on the trails, so that probably means there will be no snow. LOL!).
