Notes:

  • Ugh. I dislike that I crammed so much in to the last three days of the week, but that is what happens sometimes. My schedule will (hopefully) be better managed next week (and hopefully the cold I had will not come back).
  • I enjoyed teaching the Saturday cycling class so much. I am kind of bummed I only taught two this year! Maybe I will teach more next year! I know I will definitely be in for more club outdoor rides in the upcoming months!
  • Speaking of cycling, I’ve been reading RAGBRAI: America’s Favorite Bicycle Ride, and am getting so excited for my one day RAGBRAI ride with Will (here’s our route!). I am really looking forward to talking about the ride with him. I’m going to wait until he is not planning something else though, to do that, ha ha!
  • I am SO HAPPY Bobbi is back to running (after a pesky shoulder injury). Man. I missed our run chats, the first few months of the year! I just feel so good after, even if the run was not the easiest! Hee hee. For our long run together on Saturday, we stopped at the post office to drop off my snister’s bridal shower and bachelorette invites (hence the pic*). I always think it’s fun to “run” my errands. Are you able to “run” any errands?
  • The weekly running speedwork streak continues! Barely. See poor planning above. I left speedwork for Sunday. The day after cycling intervals and a long run. Brilliant. I cut 8×400 down to 4×400, but actually, am really happy I did any intervals, at all! Gotta move them back to midweek, next week.
  • It was nice that the half mile park loop was mostly clear for Sunday speedwork, and that it’s been a bit warmer! Yes, even though I dislike spring**, I did like the warmth on Friday!

*Ha ha, that is the post office she sometimes takes Fake Meats packages to for Steven, so it was even funnier. To us. Only. I know.
**I actually have so many fun springs things going on this year, I MIGHT actually like it!!!

I feel guilty and like a horrible friend for not realizing that you were so sick last week. I’m very sorry and glad you’re feeling better! I also need to give you props for my race on Saturday. Since I haven’t really been running, I can only assume that your Monday strength classes are what led to my success. Thank you for consistently kicking my butt!!

Don’t feel bad. I don’t really broadcast when I am sick (I just whine to Steven) so there was no way for you to know. 🙂

Aww, you are welcome!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 I am so excited your race went so well!

Yesterday I stopped by CVS at the end of my run to pick up laundry detergent. It’s about a block and a half from our apartment.

Over the winter, I bought a Divvy membership (bike sharing) through Groupon, and finally took my first Divvy ride on Saturday! I just rode around the neighborhood – to/from Barre class and the library. But hopefully now that the weather is better (and once I get accustomed to riding in city streets), I’ll be Divvy-ing around town a lot more. It’s so convenient and I like not having to worry about bike maintence or if it will get stolen. I do have my own bike, but it’s at my parents’ house. Maybe once I get more comfortable on a bike again (especially comfortable enough to ride among rush hour traffic), I’ll ride my bike to/from work on occasion. (I can keep it in my office building’s basement – I would hope I don’t have to worry about theft there.)

I didn’t even think about the Divvy pros of no maintenance and the worry of it getting stolen. Good points. I have to ask – do you wear a helmet? 😉

      • Maggie says:

Yes. Well, so far at least. I did buy a helmet at Target after I bought the Groupon. That is the one downside of Divvy, you have to lug around your own helmet or go without. There are plenty of scenarios I can think of where Divvy would be great one-way, but you have to plan ahead with your helmet. So I really want one of these: http://www.hovding.com/en/how_it_works/

I am happy to hear you are using one! Although, the inflatable one is a steal at 269 euros.

          • Maggie says:

Really? That’s like 375 USD … my Target helmet was $25, so … yeah. Although the airbag wouldn’t mess up my hair as long as it’s not activated, haha.

    Weekend Warrior!

I know that feeling. Sometimes you just can’t get it all in during the work day.

  5. Jobi says:

I’m just glad I didn’t ACTUALLY fall over in my snowshoes. 🙂
    Yay fun!
