Matchy Matchy

If you’ve been reading my blog for almost any amount of time you may have noticed that I love to be Matchy McMatchersons with my friends at races. See, um, here, here, here or… most of this page

It’s dweeby and I love it!

With whom do you like to “match” / be twinsies?

Sigh, I am always trying to get Steven to be matchy, but he just isn’t game. What’s up wit dat?! Ha ha.

My snister, however, is game.

Muah ha ha. When she was packing for her recent trip to see us, she made sure to pack shirts that I also had (or bring me NEW CLOTHES!!!). So we could be twinsies. Every. Single. Day.

And it was amazing. To us. Only.

Hey! If you can’t be a complete goob around your family, then who can you be one around, really? (okay, okay, mostly everyone, if you’re me, apparently)

We had a really nice visit with Christina and Will! I unfortunately had events each day that kind of anchored us to the area around our house, but we were all happy to chill, eat at a few restaurants, have homemade pizza, play a game, go bowling, go on a walk, go shopping (2x!!!), get massages, visit the warehouse, go to a party at the studio I teach at… and did I mention, chill?

Ha ha. Data is already missing Christina SO MUCH. She gave him all the proper cat aunt loving, and he really enjoyed it! He hung out with her for most of their visit!

And while I mentioned it was a bit unfortunate I had a few events going on… I guess I meant mostly for them. For me, it meant my sister could do my hair and coordinate my outfits! Hee hee! I wish she could do that for me more often. Hmm, we have a empty spare bedroom…

We can’t wait to see them again! Even if it’s not until Christmastime, sniff sniff!

I love the idea of matching but can’t remember the last time I matched with someone! I think I need to register my sis and I for some race and force her to match with me 🙂

I inadvertently match people sometimes! The guy I sit next to at work and I were dressed a like one day last week, and I’ve met up with friends several times only to be wearing something similar (or totally the same – Melanie and I unknowingly wore the same running jacket to the Lung Run last month!).

You guys are a hoot! 🙂 I love the matchy matchy! Especially for races 😉

So cute! My friend and I tried to be all pink together for our race, but we did not execute it as well as possible. Still fun, though!

    You two are so cute!

I picked my shoes for the marathon to match my husband’s shoes, but that was as cutesy as we got. We sometimes wear the same race shirt. Otherwise, I have no one to play the matching game with! 🙁

  6. I try to be match match with my two younger sons – they are always game

  7. I’ve accidentally matched a couple of guys in my dance classes on more than one occasion, which I always find hilarious. They don’t seem to be nearly as amused by our twinzie status, but maybe that’s because I insist on calling us twinzies 😛

When I was in middle school my mom took me to get a haircut, and the hair stylist pointed out that we were both wearing khaki shorts and a lime green shirt. I was HORRIFIED, especially since we had to go to the mall afterwards. Is there anything worse as a 12 year old than showing up at the mall matching your mom?? Haha.

Ha! That is awesome! Please take a twinzie pic to share next time!

Yeah, not so cool to match your mom when you are THAT age. I think it’s fun, now!

  8. Christina says:

Haha snister! I had so much fun being your twinzie for the long weekend. I wish we were still twinzies today… :'( I like the labels on the pics. I am definitely Mrs. Thorerson. 😉

Love you!! Thanks for hosting us and showing us a great time in RL! 🙂

How fun! I did notice the matching blazers on your FB page and I was wondering if there was a reason for it…now I know! Glad you had a great visit with your sister!

I love being matchy for races too. For everything really. I think it’s because I’m an only child. I want a twin. LOL!

  11. Mica says:

Oh my gosh, that is so cute, Kim! Seeing you and Christina makes me wish I had a sister sometimes (but only a nice one who would do my hair and make me cool crafts and bring me clothes for being twinsies).

I haven’t done much matching for races, but maybe I should! That seems fun! (Though I’d be forced to, uh, get more running clothes.)
