This is why I shouldn’t run indoors

Because I have no proprioception, and then this happens, from banging my elbow in to the track* rail over and over:

My only hope is that I’ll still be able to do plank-ups in my fitness boxing class tomorrow! I know my class would hate it if I took those out because I couldn’t do them with them, ha!

Who else got a bit emotional watching the Olympic Marathon Trials today?! Gawd, it was so hard to see the fourth place finishers – my heart broke for them! My predictions for the women were right, but in the wrong finishing order! For men, I had no idea, other than rooting for Meb and a few who didn’t make the team. I hope Rio isn’t as hot as LA was today…

*I was on an indoor track where the inside lane was for running, and overlooked an open gym – hence the rail I bumped in to a zillion times.

Omigosh, you did your long run indoors? How many times did you bump your poor elbow?

Yeah, I bet your class would be sooooo sad without plank ups! Haha.

  2. Ouch!!! I did backwards walking on the treadmill and I almost fell off a few times. Supposedly this helps with proprioception (aka balance). I am definitely challenged in this department!

One time I met with a personal trainer and they wanted me to do drills like that, as well as sideways walking. Recipe for disaster for me, but I bet if you can pull it off, it does really help!

  3. Amazing trials right? I am happy Hastings/Cragg made it and she did awesome!! Desi really surprised me. I mean, I had no doubt she would make it but did great in the last mile or so.

Yeah, Desi really had a kick at the end! Impressive! I can’t wait to see how it plays out in Rio. I hope she can run the whole race this time.

Thank goodness you could still do plank-ups this morning. I definitely would have missed them. So much.

I also got really emotional during the trials, mostly when Meb finished. (Not so much for the women.)

AND I also bang my arms into the treadmill (usually the front panel) when I run on it. Actually, I bang into random things with my arms a lot. I guess I’m kind of flail-y.
