Breakfast time!

We love that our neighbor’s ducks come over to visit. It’s like having our own ducks, part time. We’ve talked about having our own wildlife at some point, but that’s waaaaay down the road. (We’ve talked about having bee hives too! Yes – this vegan is not really a vegan – I will eat honey.)

I don’t have a problem with honey when it comes from a beekeeper who takes good care of his/her bees and I actually think we need more people keeping bees to make sure that they don’t die off, which would be a huge problem for agriculture. The only thing that keeps me from keeping bees myself is that they scare me!

Yeah, I am in the same boat 🙂 And I should make more of an effort to buy local honey since so many sell it around here!

We already have so many bees (and wasps, eek!) on our property that I am becoming less scared!

  2. That’d be really cool. At least if you keep your own animals and eat their honey or eggs you know exactly what they’ve been fed or how they’ve been treated. I’d love a little bit of land someday I’d probably turn it into a zoo 🙂

Exactly! I think that is the only way I’d start eating eggs again 🙂

Wouldn’t that be awesome? We hope we can someday buy the 5 acres behind us and have more animals 🙂
