Random Thoughts Thursday 124

  • The RAGBRAI (The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) route announcement party is this Saturday! I’m excited to see what this year’s route is. And I’m hoping it doesn’t end in Keokuk (the southern most Iowa city on the Mississippi River). We’ll likely ride the last day, and I doubt it will work if the route goes that far south!
  • Bobbi checked in on Data, Khali and Snow while we were in Kansas, but she never saw Snow. He’s a bit of a scaredy cat and was hiding every time she visited. I wasn’t worried, and figured he’s show up the next day. He did. At 4:00 am. Howling at the back door like a banshee, wanting to be fed. What a dork.

  • Did anyone else watch The OA on Netflix? Man, that ending. I’ve had to read up about it online to try to wrap my mind around it. And to read all the the clues I missed.
  • Since I’ve had a coupon code for the Wisconsin Half and Full Marathon for the past several years, people are asking me for one this year, not knowing I am not an ambassador anymore. I hope the generic code that I got in an email and have been giving them works!
  • Christina had professional photos taken of Baby William on Monday and this sneak peek is SO STINKING CUTE! AHHH! I can’t wait to see them all!

  • My fave coworker saw some of the cherry hearts I love at Tarjayjay and hooked me up with four bags. Aww yeah! These should last me a while… right?!

Awh the cats love each other 😍 I watched the OA, the ending was a shocker. Have you watched the 100 I liked that too

I haven’t watched that – what is it?

      • Basically earth has been made uninhabitable by radiation from nuclear bombs. People have been living on a large space station. The stations air supply is running out and they send 100 kids (that are criminals) to earth to see if it’s survivable and then it goes from there

We tried to watch the OA, but about halfway through the third episode I wondered why we were watching it. I didn’t like the main character and just couldn’t get into it. I had read that the ending was pretty shocking, but I just didn’t want to hold out for it.

Meijer has your cherry hearts too! Let me know if you want more – we’d be happy to trade them for chocolate spread 🙂

    #1: Your nephew is ADORABLE

#2: By the ending of The OA I felt so stupid. Like “What the hell is going on?” stupid. I LOVED the show but I feel like everything has been called into question, even after reading online theories, missed clues, etc. I really want to re-watch it all but I don’t know if I can mentally go there again so soon!

      Thanks!

I felt confused why all of a sudden we weren’t supposed to trust the narrator just because they “found” those books! But I also missed a ton of clues – like the cones and red (?) backpack – we noticed them but didn’t get the reference. And I saw that guy’s face blur at the end but didn’t connect why. And I never heard the “whoosh” noise. LOL. I bet if I watched it again I would still miss it, even with the cheat sheet!

I haven’t watched the OA but heard it was good. It’s on my list.

The kitties are so cute! Love how affectionate they are with each other. 🙂

Baby William is just too darn cute!

Jube Jels!!!!! I only like valentine’s day because of those candies.
Look at the cute little smiling face! How adorable! I bet you can’t find till you can see that face again in person!

Awww that cat love is sweet 🙂
Ahhh, I just got done eating a bag of hearts this week. This is my busy time at work and I sit and key stuff in and eat sugar…all day.
Do they typically change the bike route every year?

  7. Mica says:

Hmm, I haven’t watched the OA yet. I’ll have to check it out. (I think you already asked me if I’d seen it.)

That is a really good newborn photo of William! Usually newborn photos are kind of “meh” or “eeehhhh,” but his smile is so nice!

    • kilax says:

Yeah, let me know if you do!

The photographer did a great job of capturing his expressions – that really takes skill with babies (and kids… and a lot of adults, lol).
