Things I’m excited about in December!

By , December 1, 2017 6:48 am

One of my first thoughts when I woke up today was “this month is going to FLY by!” We have something going on every weekend, and many weekdays. Wheeee!

So today’s quote is perfect for the first day of December. It’s a good reminder that it’s up to us to do what we value with our time! (That’s how I interpreted it. I am not a LOTR fan so I don’t know what it’s actually about. Ha!)

Here’s what I am excited about this month (per usual, list is in mostly chronological order)!

  • Seeing Lindsey Stirling in concert! I’ve been a fan for a few years now and really want to see her dancing violin player shtick.
  • Going to the dentist (I LOVE having my teeth cleaned).
  • Completing refinancing our house.
  • My annual December trip to Dallas to see Gina, Steve, and Luca!
  • Running a holiday themed 5K (maybe!).
  • Seeing Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
  • Treating myself to a massage before hosting Steven’s dad and brother for Christmas (maybe I should have one after, too?! Ha.)
  • Celebrating Steven’s birthday!!!
  • Teaching three fitness boxing classes. I am especially excited for the December 23rd “Merry Fitness Boxing” class!
  • Hosting Steven’s dad and brother for Christmas.
  • Lighting the “campfire donut” candle. For whatever reason, I’ve been saving it for this month!
  • Continuing getting in 5K shape! I have a long road ahead of me (I might be in 5K shape for a race in April) but I am enjoying the process of hill and speed work each week, and of eating less and losing weight.
  • A quiet New Year’s Eve at home with Steven?!?!

Damn you reminded me, need to find a dentist 😂 Seems like a jam packed month. We are getting our tree on Sunday so excited. They canceled the Star Wars race in Disney here indefinitely (all the Disney races for construction) so mad. I was hoping to convince you to come for the Star Wars one

      Do eeeet!

I can’t wait to see pics of your tree!

Aww man! I wonder when they will have the races start again. Do they do the SW in FL, too?

Wow, you have a ton of things going on this month! I watched Lindsey Stiriing on Dancing with the Stars this fall and she was so good, just really talented and fun to watch.

Everything you’re doing sounds great – on your house refi, will you be switching to a 15 year, or is it just that the interest rates have dropped? We are looking at doing a home equity line of credit soon – our mortgage will be paid off in six months (WOOHOO) and we’d like to do some updates to the house, so this seems like a good way to make it happen.

She seemed perfect for DWTS!!! And she made it to the finale, right?

Our refi is still 30 years 🙂 But lower rates and getting rid of PMI. That will be so awesome when you get the line of credit and do the updates!!!! What do you have in mind?!

      • Shelley B says:

Oh, PMI – yes, good that you can get rid of it! We are redoing all the flooring, updating two bathrooms, replacing kitchen countertops, new backsplash…just a few minor items, HA. But it will be so nice to have the house updated and make some changes that I’ve wanted to have done since we moved in, back in 2000.

Lots to be excited for this month. It sounds like you’re approaching it with excitement and not too much dread/stress, so that’s great! Hope everything lives up to your expectations, especially “Star Wars.” (I feel like you were not thrilled with the trailer…)

I’m glad you’re excited about December. I am kind of excited but also stressing out already.

    • kilax says:

I keep feeling stress coming in for things too – like not having a holiday card done yet, and no gift shopping done. But I am always that way – stressed about things until I can cross them off my list!!!

Sounds like you’ve got a great and busy month ahead! We are also looking forward to the new Star Wars movie…
