Tell me something good!

By , May 23, 2018 5:27 am

As much as I seem like a Grumpy Gus, I thrive off of good news from friends and family. When I need energy/good vibes, I think of their triumphs and successes. It’s cheesy, but that’s something I did at the Wisconsin Half Marathon when the pace got tough – I thought of good news friends/family had that would put a smile on my face and take me outside my discomfort!

Eventually I will get better at doing this at work when I am feeling frustrated. I’ve been working on that for years…

I really need good vibes this morning as I’m irate that the last automatic updates Windows did to my computer rendered Photoshop useless and I had to edit this photo on my phone. Why do things like that make me so freaking stabby?!

Anyway! Chances are likely I already have a good news/triumph item in mind for you if you are a friend of mine, but share it with me anyway so I can stock it away for the next time I need to draw on it!

And of course, my most recent “big” one is my PR at the Wisconsin Half Marathon!

This is a little thing but I’ve been so happy at work this week because of the therapy dogs they’ve brought in for appreciation week 🙂

My complaint about photo editing is that my kadults barred me from adding Flash to my new computer a couple years ago, so I can’t use my beloved PicMonkey to make collages, and nothing I’ve found has come close in ease of use for this less-tech-savvy person. So I totally feel you on the Photoshop frustration!!

Something good: I found a local store brand of frozen fruit smoothie blends with nothing but fruit in them and they are delicious. I feel so healthy already! It’s the little things, right?

Oh yeah, not having Flash is REALLY going to hold you back! Although, now, you have to pay for PicMonkey! What do you use instead?

Yay! That is awesome! That sounds so good right now. And yes, it’s TOTALLY the little things.

I use Composure – it’s no PicMonkey, which I’d totally pay for if I could use it without Flash crashing my computer. Hence the reason why my tech gurus banned me from installing it.

I haven’t heard of it! I wonder if you’d like Photoshop (it has a monthly subscription). But it’s Adobe (flash owner), lol.

Something good…..Thought I’d be struggling in my class because its not something I’ve studied before and I’m the old foggie in the class. I felt really nervous about going back to school. Turns out I’m tied for top of the class boooya!!

  4. That’s so weird about your Windows update and Photoshop! It’s not like Photoshop is some obscure program no one but you uses. I hope they (or Adobe) release a solution soon so you can use it again!

Something good…the farmers markets opened for the season a few weeks ago, which means I now get my fresh-baked brownie via the farmer’s market at lunch once a week 🙂 I seriously live for the farmer’s market, haha. It makes me so happy!

I thought so too! After research I found out this issue has been around since late last year during the first roll out of this version of Windows. People in forums are PISSED Adobe is not doing more to fix it – I had to go in and change some registry crap. But it works now!

OMG YASSSSSSSSSSSS that is awesome! What farmer’s market do you like to hit up?

I love that you’re always able to be happy for your friends when they have good news 🙂 (which sounds obvious and easy, but yeah… not everyone does that!)

Some good news is that we found a place to live! Yay!

    • kilax says:

Aww, thanks! And yeah, not every does for sure! We’re watching Mad Men for the first time and that comment makes me think about how everyone is SO jealous of one another and no one is happy for anyone. Ew.

Yay! I am so glad! I’ve been so glad that Terry has a job now, too!

What a positive post! I love your endless pursuit to explore, learn, and improve! Hmm, something positive to share: I talked to my coach tonight about changing up my programming, and chatting with you first helped me organize my thoughts a lot. Thank you for being such a good friend and thoughtful person!

Ooh, something good is that my mom recently got a dachshund puppy and he is so healing for my soul after losing my doxie a few months ago. There are times when it feels hard, but mostly, it’s just nice to have a dog around again. I missed it! (OH, and it’s also nice that I don’t have to deal with the actual “raising a puppy” part of it. I get all of the benefits of a puppy with none of the downsides! haha.)

AHHH! I have been loving seeing pics of him on insta! And it makes me so happy he’s making you feel good. Awww. I love this. And that you don’t have to deal with the hard parts. HA!
