Jeans Day/Judgement Day

By , September 16, 2011 1:37 pm

Today’s the day… Judgement Day… the day I have to wear jeans for the first time after being free from them all summer long. The summer was too hot (in my opinion) for jeans, so I haven’t had them on since Erin* helped me pick out a pair in the beginning of May!

I am always nervous about putting jeans on for the first time in the fall. What if they don’t fit? I mean, I have gained a few pounds overall since May. But…

they fit!!! YAY! And they feel good! I love Eddie Bauer jeans.

Okay… am I the only one who worries if their jeans will fit after not wearing them all summer? It is somewhat possible that I am being completely bizarre right now.

And can I just say – I feel so cozy today with the cool weather. YAY fall-like weather!!!

*Yes, Erin has put together most of my wardrobe, including this oufit. What can I say? The girl’s got taste… and I sure don’t!

The whole outfit looks great on you! I love the dark wash on the jeans; it’s so flattering. You should keep Erin around as a stylist for sure!

I’ve been wearing jeans all summer for more relaxed travel days because I have to have my legs fully covered when I fly (just a mental thing) and airports are always so cold. But, I’ve been at a very depressing point the last few (maybe 2-3?) months where the only jeans that feel comfortable are my ‘fat’ jeans. I know I’m at the high high end of where I feel comfortable pound wise, but this is really the only thing that makes me feel all big and gross.

Somehow the comments I post for you end up being all about me – worst commenter ever. Hope your day is super awesome in your super nice casual outfit – and congrats on them fitting well!!!

Thank you! And don’t feel bad, I think ALL of the comments I leave on other people’s blogs are all “me me me.” We just are showing people we relate to them. Blogging makes me feel normal. I like that.

Why are you up weight-wise? All the travel or running less with your injury?

YAY Fall weather! I’m in prego jeans today! They have this HUGE belly pouch so they will ALWAYS fit me. πŸ˜‰

  3. I wear jeans every day to work, so I dont have that issue too much. However, putting my jeans on after they’ve gone in the dryer SUCKS. I always try and stretch them a little first so I dont feel so bad. πŸ™‚

I keep trying to wear my jeans in the summer… Sometimes I regret it but sometimes I don’t. I don’t mind wearing them to work in the summer because it’s so cold in my office and on the train (and I’m not outside in them much in between).
You look great in those jeans!

Are you kidding me, I worry if my jeans are going to fit after I wash them!

You look great!!! Really like those jeans on you!

  6. Erin says:

The jeans get a thumbs up!

I wear jeans on Fridays to work in the summer so I’m not worried about them. I DO worry about what my swimsuit will look like on me the first time I put it on each year.

    Lookin’ good, mamacita!

I haven’t worn jeans since Memorial Day weekend up in Wisconsin and won’t until after the baby is born in a month. I didn’t buy any maternity jeans and I’m not going to now. I’m living in leggings and dresses. Fortunately, cardigans fit over them. πŸ™‚

I’ve got my Eedie Bauers on as I type! I’ve worn them and loved them so much I’ve made a hole in the knee! It didn’t occur to me to worry about them fitting. Something about being on in years makes me care less.

Love the outfit!! I am one of those people that worries about my jeans fitting in the fall/winter. And I also worry that my shorts and capris won’t fit in the summer. Yay!!! Mine fit too!! πŸ˜‰

  11. Amy says:

Very cute – those are very flattering jeans on you!
I never put any jeans or trousers of mine in the dryer – I am always scared they won’t fit!

  12. Susan says:

Haha I’m ALWAYS nervous about the first day of jean wearing! Especially since the only pants I wear during the summer are scrub pants, and the ones the hospital give me are too big to start with, so there’s no way to tell how things will fit. Mine were good to go this year too. Win!

  13. i wear mine to travel a lot, so i wear them all year.. I am more concerned the ywon’t keep fitting all winter πŸ™‚

  14. You look awesome! Those are really cute jeans! (And I am still obsessed with that race shirt!!!)

I wore jeans all summer because my office institutes a casusal dress code (no shorts, unfortunately) from Memorial Day to Labor Day. But still, jeans never lie! I can always tell instantly if I’ve gained weight simply by trying to get into a pair. And Leah is right – fresh out of the dryer is the worst!
