Road ID eCard Giveaway

By , October 12, 2011 6:16 am

We had a crazy fun four-day weekend with our friends from NYC (and then by surprise my older brother was in town so we hung out with him all last night) and now I am crazy tried. I hope to share some pictures of our adventures soon – when I get caught up on everything else… Until then, I have a giveaway post for you!

What do you carry for identification when you work out?

For the longest time, I used this dog tag that I made at one of those “make a tag for your pet” machines.

But I got really lazy about wearing it when I went running, because it bounced around and was always covered in sweat (and was cold against my chest in the winter). So I was running a lot with no ID on me. Bad bad bad.

For a few consecutive years I put a Road ID on my holiday wishlist, but never received one. And I am not sure why I didn’t get one myself because they are actually inexpensive. I guess I was being lazy!

But! Last year Erin surprised me with a Road ID for the holiday! And now I wear it on nearly every run.

I have the Shoe ID. I always keep it on my running shoes, and just take it on and off when I switch shoes. I don’t even notice it’s there, and it’s never fallen off. And it has vital info on it – emergency contacts, my allergies (none) and blood type. I love it! I feel so silly for not getting one sooner!

There are a lot of other cool Road ID products – Wrist IDs, Ankle IDs, a shoe pouch… they even have an ID for your pet! They also have plenty of other safety gear on their site, like blinking lights and reflective belts. They have apparel too!

I asked Road ID if they would sponsor a giveaway on my blog since I love my Shoe ID so much, and they are donating a $35 eCard! Thanks Road ID (for the donation and keeping us safe)!

I need a shoe ID so a passerby can call Steve to come get me off their lawn when I pass out on a hill. : ) I’ll check out their site. I should get a blinking light.

  2. Maggie says:

I’ve been meaning to get one of these too! I would probably order the shoe ID and one of those reflective belts.

  3. Kandi says:

I need one of these for sure. I have no idea why I don’t already have one. I think I’d want 2 of the shoe IDs (one for at work and one for at home).

  4. Stephany says:

I’ve started running more in the early mornings and it kind of freaks me out because it’s dark and pretty quiet. So this would give me a peace of mind! I’d order the shoe ID.

  5. Christina says:

I would get the shoe ID for Will to use when he goes biking! What a great giveaway! 🙂

  6. Christina says:

I blogged about it on my blog! 🙂

  7. I actually have a road id, but my hubby doesn’t and has been running in the dark and awful lot lately. I would order the shoe id for him. This is probably one of the best things an athlete could ever have! For myself I do have quite a few allergies to medicines so this little thing that cost me no more then $20 could save my life.

  8. J says:

I think the shoe Road ID is a great idea – I have the wrist strap one and I hardly ever wear it. Brian got it for me for Christmas last year and I just always forget to put it on but if it was on my shoe then maybe I would. But the other thing is that currently I rotate shoes for easy and hard runs…

  9. Tracy says:

(Sob story:) I was meaning to get a Road ID, but then Joe and I broke up and I didn’t have an emergency contact. Ugh. My brother is my emergency contact now. I’d totally get an ankle bracelet, though!

  10. Melissa says:

I have been meaning to get the shoe ID for myself (have been lazy)…I don’t want something additional on my wrist. I keep my expired DL in my handheld water bottle pouch but that doesn’t have contact info on it and even though I run with it about 90% of the time, there’s always that 10% that I don’t…

  11. I need a Road ID! My bad luck + clumsiness = a disaster waiting to happen! 🙂 I would love the Shoe ID!

  12. Kelly says:

I’ve wanted one of the wrist bands for a while. Given my recent chafing issues, I can’t wear a backpack/pouch without feeling the pain.

  13. kapgar says:

I’m having a tough time deciding between the Road ID Sport and the Ankle ID.

  14. Mandy says:

Oh, I’ve been meaning to get a Road ID for a while now. I was eying up the wirst ID. And maybe get a blinking light or two as well for those runs in the dark!

  15. Erin says:

I want to get a wrist or ankle ID for when I ride my bike. I’ve been wearing a pair of shoes that zip instead of lace and there’s nowhere to put the one I wear on my running shoes!

  16. Ian says:

Probably the ankle ID. My wrists already hold a GPS Garmin on one and a Timex watch on the other. Got two ankles so time to make use of them!! Currently I just carry my drivers license and medical insurance card. Great giveaway KimBot.

  17. Cher says:

I would love the ankle ID!!!!

  18. Ashley says:

I have been wanting the ankle ID for runs!
