Season of Giving Giveaway #1: Wildskins Arm Warmers

By , November 22, 2011 5:01 am

As a thank you to my readers, I will be doing one giveaway a week until Christmas. That’s five giveaways! The giveaways will all reflect different interests of mine, so of course, we will start with… running! And I am really excited about next week’s giveaway too…

Truth: I was not going to run last night. I felt a bit lazy when I got home. It’s the darkness. It makes me want to cozy up on the couch, and go to bed early.

But! When I got home I had received a package from Wildskins Arm Warmers. And when I opened the package and saw how cool the arm warmers were, I was too excited not to run!

I actually saw an ad for Wildskins Arm Warmers in the December issue of Running Times. I had never heard of them, so I looked at their site and loved all of their fun designs! Here are a few of my favorites:

After checking out their site I wrote them an email asking if they sponsor blogger reviews, and they offered to send me a pair of arm warmers to review. I was anxious to see which they would send, and I must say, I think the tropical design on this pair is so cool! I think I wasted about 10 minutes admiring them before I actually put them on to run.

Each pair has thumb holes and a little pocket on one arm. Schweet! Honestly, I was worried I would not be able to fit these up over my large biceps (they are 13″ in circumference) but the little diagram above is true – the 10″ circumference stretched 3 inches to accommodate my larger arms. I hope I don’t stretch them out too much!

And the arm warmers did not budge at all during my run! They stayed right where they were supposed to, and kept me warm. It was about 38°F when I went out for my run in the dark. At first I was chilly, but after a few minutes, the arm warmers started keeping me warm. And bonus – when I was finished, I didn’t feel immediately chilly with them still on. I am not sure what material they are made out of, but they are more spandex-y than cotton-y. And more thin that thick cotton-y arm warmers, if that makes any sense. At all.

The only bummer part is that I was running in the dark and no one could see how cute I was. But I knew! Ha ha.

I tried the pocket out – stuck some chapstick in there – and that didn’t budge. And I could get it out and back in easily while running (sounds like a set up for a bad joke).

And bonus! These arm warmers make you run fast!

Okay, maybe that was just the cool weather! And my general dorky excitement.

Anyway, I recommend checking out their site. They have a lot of neat designs. And they are only $19.50 each! That seems like a steal to me.

Thanks Wildskins, for letting me review your arm warmers!

I will be personally sponsoring the giveaway of one pair of arm warmers!

I think I like the pink bedazzled or the linked up ones. Both are pretty cool.

  2. What a great giveaway!! And I loved reading your review — it really made me want to get some of these! I love the Pays Lee design. Super cute and would totally match all my pink running tops. 😉

  3. Amy says:

Super cool – this would solve the problem of being too hot with a running shirt and a long sleeve shirt over it! I like the Shimmer and Swirl design – but they are all pretty darn cute! Thanks for hosting this, Kim!

  4. Amy says:

Hey Kim! I just linked it on my blog!

  5. I really like the “make a wish”!

    You’re so generous!!

  6. Kandi says:

I’m torn between the “Hey Hawaii” and the “Crazy 70s” prints. I also like the name of the “GRRR” haha.

  7. I really don’t think you could get any better than “pink bedazzled”. I’d pair them with black and bling out a race… for real.

  8. Lexie says:

I’ve been meaning to get some of these for the colder weather. Don’t make fun of me, but I like the pink bedazzled ones the best.

  9. abbi says:

I really like ‘It Pays Lee’ (and also like the name!).

  10. abbi says:

I added a link to this giveaway on my blog sidebar

  11. I like the neon lights, but actually, I would want black or white arm warmers. I have white ones, but they just won’t stay up because I have chicken arms — are these stretchy in the upper arm, or are they made to fit normal people??

  12. gina says:

They make you run faster? Sign me up! They have tons of cute designs! I like the Hey Hawaii ones!

How cool of you to do these contests!!

  13. Melissa says:

So cool…thank you for offering this! So many cute designs…I like the “GRRR…” and the “Link Up” best but the Indie Gold and Pink Bedazzled also look fun 🙂

  14. Erin says:

Those are so awesome!!!! Of course I like the Starry Night ones but the Dotty ones would go nicely with my running club “team uniform”.

Also, way to go on the speedy run!

  15. Maggie says:

Awesome! I love the Starry Night arm warmers.

  16. These are so cool. I like the shimmer & swirl ones, and the pink bedazzled. Basically I love all the pink ones. 🙂

  17. Tracy says:

THUMBHOLES!!! I WANT!!!! Starry night! Awesome!

  18. Beth B. says:

Kim – these are so cool and a great value too! I like the Starry Night for practicality and the Orange Burst for the wild and craziness!!

  19. In that first picture, it looks like you have (pretty cool) tattoo sleeves! I love ’em and they would encourage me to continue running in this chilly weather! My favorites are Orange Burst and Grrrr and Fun Geo Metric and Neon Lights … it was kinda hard to choose just one!

  20. Rachel R. says:

I like the Link Up print.

  21. Kristina says:

Really cool! I like the “link up” design – super fun.

  22. Mandy says:

Oh, I am torn between Hey Hawaii and Make A Wish. Make a Wish would probably match with my running shirts better though.

Arm warmers always seem for fast people, but that wouldn’t stop me from wearing them 🙂

  23. Nicole says:

It Pays Lee and Orange Burst. I’m torn!

  24. bobbi says:

Awesome! I can’t decide between Hey Hawaii and Dotty – there’s not ANY that I’d turn down!

  25. cher says:

i love the crazy 70s ones! i am in LOVE with these because of the thumb holes!!! i need some!

  26. J says:

Cool! I love arm warmers! I love the green design! Definitely would be helpful in spotting me in races!

  27. wow, those are some loud patterens! but i suppose that they are great for nighttime running! my favorite pattern would either be the link it up or starry night.

  28. RunningLaur says:

I love the thumb hole idea!
I think the Indie Gold is my favorite – they’d look really nice with my Marathon Maniac and Runner’s Den shirts. I have gaiters that are a lot like the Green Galaxy ones too. Hmm, now I just might have an idea for when people ask for an idea of something they could get me for Christmas!

  29. Ashley says:

I definitely want these if they make you run faster! & perhaps they’d provide more motivation to RUN. I need that too.

  30. Marcia says:

Cool! I’ve never heard of these. I think I’d go for the green galaxy.

  31. Marcia says:

I linked you on my blog

  32. OOOHHH I think Make a Wish might be my favorite, but it is a tough call!
