Starry Pendant Giveaway

By , May 1, 2012 6:11 am

When my mom and sister came out here to go shopping for new work clothes, I took them to the outlet mall in Wisconsin so we would have a huge variety of stores to look at for both of them. Okay, and because we were looking for deals.

Anyway, my sister and I went in to Christopher & Banks and grabbed a ton of stuff for my mom to try on. We probably spent 20 minutes browsing then another 25 minutes with my mom trying on clothes.

We were about to check out and leave when my mom and sister noticed a rack with a bunch of cute things in Christina’s size. So she tried on clothes. Then I tried on some stuff. Then we checked out. Then we noticed more stuff. So we tried on more stuff. And checked out again.

Ha ha. I have no idea how long we were there, but thankfully, we were the only customers and the lady at the register did not mind our multiple transactions!

My sister and I were both really surprised that Christopher & Banks had clothes we liked. It was supposed to be our little secret that we got stuff there. Sorry, Christina! I ended up with jeggings and a red sweater (22 and 24 here). I could go on about how owning jeggings makes me feel very weird, but whatever.

ANYWAY!

My sister pointed out this really cute Starry Pendant to me, so I picked up one to giveaway!

Gorgeous necklace, thanks again for hosting another great giveaway! I probably can’t win this one since I just won the Under Armour shirt, but I’ll enter anyway!

I definitely avoid certain stores when shopping. I never shop at Express, Limited, The Gap, Abercrombie, any boutiques, or any of those other trendy stores. Department stores work the best for me because I generally like classic stuff with a little twist!

There is nothing that precludes you from entering! And at this rate, you seem to be the only one interested, lol!

I never shopped at trendy stores because I thought I was too big! But right now I am not (lol). There are some classic pieces hidden in some of those shops 🙂

For years the only place I shopped was The Limited!! Department stores totally overwhelm me so I actually prefer smaller, more trendy stores. But little one-off boutiques kind of freak me out. Not sure why.

I avoid Urban Outfitters, because all of their dresses are cute, but wayyyy too short for a woman of my age/demeanor.

I wouldn’t have thought to ever check out Christopher & Banks either. I have been surprised a few times at stores but I can’t think of any off the top of my head. I am usually set in my ways on where I shop, but I do branch out a bit when I go to the outlets.

I avoid Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters because their clothes seem so… small. Like, small because I am large and small because they are supposed to be small. I went to American Eagle the other day and found a lot of cute crop pants and a dress that I loved and fit well. That was a surprise, because I kind of figured you stopped shopping there once you were 18 ;).

  5. Ooohh, I likey!

I really really like boutique stores, and there are plenty of them in my neighborhood. I don’t like wearing what everyone else is and I have funky hipster/preppy taste, which is the weirdest combo ever. Tend to avoid the common stores, but I do love me some J. Crew.

I’m not sure this is what you’re gunning for, but I was surprised I liked something in the Oak Brook Microsoft Store. Me being a Mac freak, that’s weird. But it was the R2-D2 X-Box 360 so it’s completely understandable.

  7. Denise says:

I was surprised to find that Maurices actually has clothes that I like AND fit!! I avoid The Buckle, sales people are too pushy and I NEVER find anything that fits the way I like. I think Christopher and Banks have really cute clothes!

  8. I feel WAY too old for Forever 21…I can’t go in there anymore!

  9. Amy says:

When Forever 21 opened its first store in Belgium last fall, I had to go and see what it was all about – it is my teenage niece’s favorite store. I never expected to find anything for myself. Surprise, surprise – I bought a pair of khaki trousers there that have become my favorite pair of pants – I wear them all the time!

I LOVE that necklace, so pretty! I don’t think I have ever heard of Christopher & Banks.

I tend to stay far away from stores I know that I won’t fit into at all.

  11. Lauren says:

I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of Christopher & Banks! I’ve always had an aversion to Dress Barn. I think because I’ve heard other people say that and I don’t want to be judged haha.

  12. Christina says:

    Pretty!

I love the store Zara but really started to appreciate it a few years back. I was under the impression that it was expensive. But it was reasonable and a mix of trendy and classic pieces that you can mix and match of ages.

I almost missed this! What a cute necklace! There are lots of places that I used to avoid (because I am old) but now find myself in with my daughter. THAT is a mindfuck, I tell you…
