Notes:

  • I had the flu/some lung issues at the end of 2013 and in to 2014, so my January last year was… less than stellar. I am so grateful to be healthy and working out right away in 2015!
  • And my first three runs of the year were in such nice weather! 30s and hardly any wind! Sunday was a dose of reality again – 6°F out and feels like -13°F because of 19 mph winds with gusts in the mid 20s. Ha ha, winter is here!
  • I also started 2015 out with my normal tracking spreadsheets, and some new ones. I just love tracking pointless data (like who my runs were with, in which state, etc.) even though I could very likely run a report on Garmin to tell me all that info. Eh, it makes it fun for me! So far, 50% of my runs this year were with my dad on his bike, and 50% of them were in Kansas, and the other 50% were in Missouri. Those stats will change very soon!

  1. I’m right they with you, starting the new year out healthy is a huge point that needs to be celebrated. So glad your workout fit the year started with your dad.

WOW, great week! Does running 7 days a week every burn you out? I have always been in awe of those who could run with no rest days in between! Great job!!

  3. Black Knight says:

6 days running in a week: very very good. Glad you can make some workouts with dad. I would like to run with my son but at the moment he has some problems inside his knee.

  4. Pete B says:

Way to rock in the New Year. No better way than by running! Spreadsheets are good, even as a backup, since Garmin’s website could lose all your data (or start charging to access it) and then what would we do? 🙂

    • kilax says:

Thanks for supporting my crazy data. And yeah, good point on Garmin… half the time the site won’t load, anyway! It’s a big buggy (probably cause there IS so much data in there!).

  5. jan says:

Great week! I love all of the stats you keep. This is going to be a tougher week of running with this weather…yikes!

    • kilax says:

      Thanks!

And yeah it is! One outdoor run and one indoor run so far. How are you dealing with it? 🙂

      • jan says:

Well, Monday night I ran outside while it snowed. It wasn’t too bad at all actually. Last night I took a rest day because my knee hurt, but I probably would’ve made that one a TM run given that it was below zero. Today will probably be a treadmill run, although if it’s not windy, I really don’t mind sub-zero temps too much.

        • kilax says:

Oh man, is your knee better today?!

Yeah, the sub-zero temps are fine with me, it’s that damn wind and ice! I hope the wind gives us a break, soon!

          • jan says:

A little…it’s that normal nerve thing I always deal with. For some reason it makes my knee hurt. I hadn’t been adjusted in 6 weeks and I need to go every 4…the holidays just got in the way!

  6. Amy says:

Very cool you and your Dad can run together!

  7. I have a pointless Excel sheet too. It’s the best thing ever.
