You know what Sunday is?!

By , March 4, 2015 6:21 am

The day I come back from my girls’ weekend with Bobbi!

The start of Daylight Saving Time. Dun, dun dun…

Slim chance, I know, but is anyone else NOT looking forward to more daylight in the evenings?

Nah?

Didn’t think so.

I was just liking seeing this at the end of my morning runs:

150225sunrise

THE SUN RISING.

Oh well. It’ll come back soon enough.

I do strangely enjoy darkness at night – it makes me feel like I can be lazy and it’s okay. If the sun’s out, I feel like I should be outside, doing something.

But… I’ve mentioned that before. The shift to spring is something I struggle with each year. trgfffffffffffffhyuj <—– ha ha, a message from Data. Apparently he thinks I’ve written about this enough before! (Or just wants to be fed?)

I can totally understand that ‘Spring Ahead’ is a big downer if you’re a morning person. 🙁 I hope it doesn’t get to you too much this year.

Just think about all our fun upcoming Spring events! WOO HOO!

I hope not too! That is what I have been trying to do – keep focused on all the fun things coming up! YOU’RE AS COLD AS IIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!

Back to my dark morning runs…not happy about it.

I cannot WAIT for the time to change. More this year than ever, I think because it’s been so cold and this is the winter that WILL. NOT. QUIT.

I like to run in the darkness and enjoy the first lights in the morning.
I use to make the workouts before going to work.

For me the biggest thing is having my kids leave on their bikes in the morning when it is light feels so much safer than when they have to do the same trip in the dark.

  6. It finally got light out when I leave for work, so I’m sad for that to reset. 🙁 I’m also sad that I have to work on Sunday and will lose an hour of sleep without the chance to sleep in, ha. Otherwise, I can’t wait for everyone saying how the hour change messes them up so much. This ex-night shift nurse still reserves the right to laugh at them all!

Yeah i am going to miss the brighter mornings, but soon it will be back to early sunrises.

  8. Lol I will never understand you winter lovers! 😛

I am very much looking forward to more daylight in the evening. Yes, the darker mornings will suck but they will pass soon. Darker evenings are like everything else about winter: it’s fun at first, but after a while – enough already.

I often struggle with S.A.D. symptoms this time of year so I’m thrilled that it’s going to be light out so much later and that Spring is almost here.

I can tell you that I wish I lived in Hawaii or Arizona. The heat and weather are a nice perk, along with not having to deal with the changing of the clocks twice a year and re-adjusting the body and the cats to a new schedule. I’m worn out today already, and it’s not from eating too much at lunch. LOL

It IS a coincidence that such beautiful places don’t follow DST though… (or, do they stay on it all year?). I wonder if the whole US will ever follow suit!

I’m really struggling with the time change today. I guess I struggle every time with it but always think I will be fine.

I also feel guilty if I’m not productive when it’s light outside in the evenings. That being said, I do love summer nights when it stays light forever. It makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood, I suppose. Do you like running in the dark in the mornings? It kind of makes me feel like a badass, like I’m up earlier than everyone else in the city.

    • kilax says:

Yeah, for all my whining I love it when we get to the long ass summer days, especially when I’m at the river with my family and we go on a late boat ride or stay at the beach late 🙂

And I do like running in the dark in the am. I actually… prefer to run in the dark. Ha ha. But I like seeing the sunrise, too!
