Annual holiday card

By , December 23, 2015 11:03 am

Steven and I don’t do our own custom holiday card (or even send a generic one… oops?*) but we still participate in the annual holiday card with my family! It’s fun to look through them and see how this:

has grown to this:

Can you find Data in the photo**?

I hope we continue this tradition for many years! It is getting harder to coordinate, as our families grow and we live in separate states. But to me, it’s totally worth the trip to do the photo. Ahh, what can I say – photos are very important to me!

*A few years ago, someone was upset with me for “not sending them a card.” Um… I didn’t send ANYONE a card? Weird…
**Steven took the photos, I edited them for color/etc., and Christina added the text and a couple animals…

Heart eyes emoji!!! Love my faamily!!!

  2. What a gorgeous, gorgeous photo! I love everything about it, down to those flannel scarves.

I am completely hit-or-miss on cards. This year, it was a miss. I want to/feel like I should be better with doing a family photo and just can’t get it together consistently. Maybe next year …

Thank you! Christina coordinated all our outfits ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s A LOT of work! I can completely understand being hit or miss. Although, it is a shame – Silas is so darn cute! (Ha, not like he won’t be cute next year or something, lol!)

  3. What a lovely tradition! I have another friend who still does extended family photo cards and sends them out… a little hassle but probably easier for all 3+ families in the long run! Happy holidays!

It is easy for all of us, cause it makes me feel like I don’t have to do one, ha! (even though it only goes to a few of my friends)

      Happy Holidays!!!

I really like this year’s photo, too! Especially with the animals in it. I see at least one kitty but I don’t see Data.

Not everyone sends out cards! I didn’t send any last year, so hopefully no one felt too slighted by me.

I think it’s so cool that you guys all do a photo card together! My family never did photo cards, so that’s just something I started doing a few years ago… to send everyone pictures of my dogs.

This is so sweet! I love that you guys all make the effort to be able to still have a big family photo for the Christmas card. We don’t send out holiday cards either. Every year I think maybe we should but we never get to it ๐Ÿ™

Put a reminder in your calendar now for Oct 1 next year to get on it! LOL! You’d have a lot of good pics to choose from for this year! ๐Ÿ™‚

What a great tradition and what an awesome card!

I stopped sending out xmas cards a couple of years ago, except for a few people (mostly who aren’t on Facebook and therefore haven’t been in the loop with our activities). I suspect you are in the majority at this point, with not sending them out.

    Merry Christmas!

    • kilax says:

      Thanks!

Yeah, now that you mention it, we have received less cards – so are less people doing it? Or are we getting less since we don’t send one?! Ha!

      Merry Christmas!

What a great tradition! Love this photo.

What a great card! I’ve never done a photo card. Not as a kid or as an adult. I’ve done a video e-card, but haven’t done that in a few years. I haven’t sent cards in awhile. I figure I don’t have kids, does anyone really care? Although I love receiving photo cards. I like to save them and see the kids grow through the years every time I get out my Christmas decorations.

Great card as usual! We sent out (non-photo) cards this year for the first time in years, but we’ve only gotten 3 cards this year. I think definitely fewer people are doing it, as we haven’t even gotten cards from people who normally sent them every year.

    Merry Christmas, Kim! Mwah!

  12. martymankins says:

I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone complain they didn’t get a card from me. At least that I heard of directly from any complainers.

I sent out a total of 4 cards this year. I usually send 20+. Just didn’t make the extra effort.

Is Data by the truck tire behind you?

    • kilax says:

Yeah, I was really surprised when that person did complain. Especially since I send them to no one!

Data is in the tree to the left ๐Ÿ™‚
