Critter capture

Critter eviction is well underway at our house:

  • And now we’ve got these guys…

160315salamanders

160314lizardfriend

Hopefully they’ll be easier to “evict.” Ha ha.

Steven found them in the sump pump late Sunday night. Steven made many visits to the sump pump that night because the float kept getting stuck, then the pump kept running, which made a very loud noise. Add that to another list of things to fix! (We actually have two sump pumps – one that goes in to the yard and one that goes in to the septic system – both need some work, of course.)

I really wonder what critter will show up next. I feel like I’m posting something about them here every few days! We haven’t seen Peoples (that’s what Data calls his friend) in awhile…

Oh man… those things are creepy looking. I wouldn’t be quite as weirded out by mammals, even rodents, but these… yuck.

You may need get a critter hunting cat lol
I have those salamanders or lizards in my garage… my cats chase them lol I hate squatters…the spiders are currently overtaking my house, seems to happen in Spring.

  3. AUUUGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Out of all your critters, those are ABSOLUTELY the worst (maybe not in terms of destructiveness/problem-causing, but in terms of grossness, in my opinion). BLECH. So slimy and icky and yucky! Nope nope nope. I will take any critter with fur, but once you start getting into reptiles and whatnot, that’s where my interest in animals nosedives. I do not like salamanders! Or lizards, or anything else in that family.

You sure do have an array of things going on at your new place! At least you are evicting humanely so many people would just kill.:( I may not like them living with me but each little guy has a purpose!

Yeah, killing is not an option – I am vegan for animal right reasons, so that wouldn’t work for me. I am ashamed I have been killing so many bugs though 🙁

Why did Data name his friend Peoples?

We’ve had salamanders in our egress window before. I think they are so cool!

    • kilax says:

He said he named him that after his favorite character in a movie. But it’s a movie only him and Steven have seen!

They are cool! Did you leave them there or get them out? Last time we checked, we had three in our sump pump!

  6. Mica says:

I guess I wouldn’t want your salamander (?) friends in my sump pump either, but they are so cute!

You really are out in the woods! So many critters have come to greet you.
