The end is near…

… of this work detail, that is.

It’s supposed to be over January 21st! Then I go back to my old position.

There is talk of extending the detail, but I highly doubt that will happen (and somehow hope that by posting here that I doubt it will, that the universe proves me wrong).

That’s all fine. I knew I’d have to go back.

But now the question is, how do I find the passion and joy in my old position, that I found in this new one?

Is it even possible?

Aside from a few sh*t days, I’ve been much happier at work and in life since I started this detail. I’d love to stay that way.

We shall see!!!

I’m sorry to hear about going back to your old position. It’s soooo important to like what you do for work.

We have a Calder sculpture about 5 minutes from our apartment. http://www.artnet.com/magazineus/features/tuchman/tuchman10-23-06_detail.asp?picnum=3

Thank you! It really is. I knew I was unhappy before but hadn’t realized how bad it was. Eek!

Aww, a crab! Our is a flamingo 🙂

I can’t understand why they are willing to let you go???

Oh no, that time flew by! What about this work detail is so much better than your regular work? I hope they let you stay since you seem so much more enthusiastic and genuinely engaged with the stuff you’ve been doing.

My regular work was somewhat design related and really changing from when I started. It was not so much interior architecture anymore, and became a lot of office furniture assistance (and much more programming, which I don’t mind as much as the furniture). I was doing a lot of work I didn’t know how to do well, and was not very interested in.

Now I get to manage drawing inventory which sounds boring but I love. Ha ha ha.

They really want me to stay for those reasons! They want to extend it two months.
