Data’s Balls

It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Data’s World comic. (See previous versions on the “Photos” page – 1, 2 and 3.)

You may recall that Data loves these little squishy balls. We give him one at a time, and he carries it all around the house with him. Everywhere he goes, his ball is there too – in the kitchen when he’s eating, in the bed when he’s sleeping, on the stair when he’s lounging, in the bathroom when he’s, well… you know.

The thing is, he goes through one a day. He chews them all up and destroys them. We play fetch with him with it for awhile, then when we go to bed, he goes to town on his toy ball, and we find pieces of it all over the stairs the next day.

I decided to order some balls in bulk, since he loves them so much, and they seem to make him so happy. Since he normally just chews on it and makes a big mess and doesn’t eat it… I figured it’s not a big deal.

Oh irony of ironies, yesterday, the same day his package arrives, I come home to find green barf all over the place. Nice. Timing.

So… he won’t be playing with these alone. Or maybe at all.

I’d like to know how difficult it is to get the ball away from Data after he has it. πŸ™‚

From the post title, my mind wandered down the path of Star Trek: Next Generation porn. Then I see the cat’s name is Data. Relief.

At least he still plays. Our male kitty will chase a string every so often, but older cats get lazy and add more sleep to their day. Not that any feline needs more sleep in their day.

Looks like he’s going to have lots of fun. And so will his owner after playtime is done.

Dave2 – Definitely not as hard as getting a ball away from a dog! πŸ˜‰

martymankins – HA HA HA! Oh my gosh… I’m not even going to go there! πŸ™‚ I am worried that Data won’t like to play anymore when he gets older. πŸ™ We just try to have as much fun with him now as we can… even it means cleaning up pieces of ball from all over the house!

javaqueen14 – Thank you πŸ™‚ I had fun making it. I made an “evil” data version, but decided not to use it πŸ˜‰

Gina (Mannyed) – Now is Manny going to think he needs some?! πŸ˜‰

claire – Thanks πŸ™‚ I stood behind the box and shook his cat food in my hand to get him to look up!

we just bought our cats a laser pointer. (Well, the laser pointer would actually be for us, the little beam of light that it emits would be for the cats). I have never seen them go after something so much as they have that little beam of light….

Data, as always, is adorable πŸ˜‰

    sizzle – Thanks πŸ™‚

    Cheryl – Thank you! πŸ™‚

suze – Oh my gosh! For the longest time I wouldn’t let Steven use the laser pointer with Data because I thought it was making him stupid… then when I saw it in action and realized how much fun Data was having, I bought him another one! They are so cute chasing that laser everywhere!
