Friday Question #31

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?

<image: Blue Bunny This hot weather’s got me thinking about a cold scoop (or two) of ice cream.

I love Blue Bunny’s “Birthday Party” flavored ice cream. It’s so sweet and creamy… and perfect. It feels like each bite touches all of your taste buds, as if fills your mouth with savory flavors. It reminds me a lot of Cold Stone Creamery’s “Cake Batter” flavored ice cream. Steven said it tastes “just like white birthday cake.”

My sister discovered the flavor one time when she and my family came to visit me in college. After they left, I remember  scooping myself a HUGE bowl of the ice cream. I probably finished the carton that night. Steven asked why we never buy it out here – that’s probably why – NO self-control!

hands down, it’s Ben&Jerry’s Dublin Mudslide 🙂 “Irish cream liqueur ice cream with chocolate chocolate chip cookies and a coffee fudge swirl”
btw,my fave sinful drink is Bailey’s … see the link? 🙂

  2. Kyra says:

    ONE favorite? Oh COME ON!

For the more healthy alternative I like Hood’s Light “under the stars” ice cream (chocolate ice cream, with a peanutbutter ribbon, with chocolate peanutbutter filled stars throughout.)

I also love Baskin Robins Mint Chocolate chip (best ever.)

I also happen to love Breyer’s Natural chocolate and cookie dough mixed together. It has just the right flavor.

And then there is the Reese’s ice cream cake

If I’m going to splurge, I go for Ben & Jerry’s Cherries Garcia. But for just normal everyday ice cream dining, I’m a Breyer’s Vanilla girl.

  4. sizzle says:

It’s hard for me to pick just ONE because ice cream is like my favorite food. I can’t have it in the house or I will eat it all. I have zero self-control around it.

My favorite would be any peanut butter & chocolate combo but it’s got to have chocolate ice cream with pb or pb ice cream with chocolate. No vanilla can be involved.

A close second would be mint chip or cookies and cream.

I know it’s wrong since it’s only 7:30am but damn it if I don’t want some RIGHT NOW.

  5. Jenn says:

Dryer’s mint chocolate chip. There are probably better brands that have the same flavor, but my grandparents keep this on hand because they know the grandkids love it, so it always reminds me of them. I also love anything with chocolate and peanut butter in it.

  6. diane says:

I hardly ever eat ice cream anymore, because I’m lactose intolerant. I consider it a blessing–it probably helped keep me from struggling more to lose weight!
I do love Ben & Jerry’s Totally Twisted Fudge Brownie/Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough frozen yogurt, although it is getting harder and harder to find. And Oberweis Dairy makes a HEAVENLY vanilla fro-yo.
When I’m stocked up on lactaid, and/or willing to risk it, Cold Stone’s strawberry ice cream is my favorite. 🙂

  7. martymankins says:

Any ice cream with cherries in it. Burgundy Cherry is one of my favs at Baskin Robbins. Cherry Garcia from Ben & Jerry’s is another good one.

  8. Rachel says:

I’m always been too afraid to try “Cake Batter” at ColdStone for fear that it tastes too much like eating straight icing. I’ll have to give it a try…

  9. tori says:

That is my kids favorite flavor too! For my son’s birthday party a few weeks ago, I made an ice cream cake out of that. We sometimes have a hard time finding that flavor though…when I go looking for it I never see it, but often I stumble upon it when looking for something else.

I used to not like ice cream (I know!) but recently I have been craving (and eating) cherry chocolate chip. And reeces peanut butter cup. And mint chocolate chip.

I love Loaded Cookies and Cream AND Cookie Dough. So good! I have it every day (so not good! Haha!)

  11. ice cream is my absolute fav, there is noooo way I can pick just one. Mmmm, ice creammmm. Cookie Dough is one of my favorites as well as cake batter yummy goodness.

  12. Denise says:

Oreo Mint Blizzard from Dairy Queen. Baskin-Robbins Banana.
    Most any soft serve.

  13. claire says:

Ben & Jerry’s used to have one called something like Diane’s Candy Drawer that was pretty awesome. Haven’t seen it in a long time though. New York Super Fudge Chunk is damn tasty. Phish Food. Chunky Monkey. All good.

  14. kilax says:

Whoa! I have only tried a FEW of the kinds listed above! Maybe I should add these all to a list and take it with me to the grocery store. I wonder how long it will take to try them all?

  15. SJ says:

Baskin-Robbins Pumpkin Pie is my absolute most favorite! Too bad they only offer it in October and November. 🙁 I also love their German Chocolate Cake flavor. As far as grocery-store brands, it would be a toss-up between Dreyer’s Jamoca Almond Fudge and Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby (which comes in at #2 on a Newsweek list of the most fattening ice creams).

Okay, gotta run to the store now, kthxbai!

  16. Whiskeymarie says:

Don’t even have to think about it- Haagen Dazs Vanilla Swiss almond- my all time favorite for ever and ever.
Second in line is Haagen Dazs macadamia brittle.

  17. Felicia says:

I miss ice cream…(lactose intolerant now) but my fav is mint choc chip (not original but yummy)!!1
