Alternative Baking Company Cookies Giveaway

By , March 1, 2010 5:06 am

Do you like cookies?

Ha! What kind of a question is that? Who doesn’t like cookies?!

Have you heard of the Alternative Baking Company? They are based in California and make gourmet, vegan cookies that don’t contain dairy, eggs, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, cholesterol, animal ingredients, artificial ingredients, or refined sugar. They make their cookies in small batches using organic flour, organic sugar, and natural ingredients. They even have wheat-free cookies.

And they are so delicious, soft and chewy! I wish I could replicate them at home!

I love their cookies (especially Luscious Lemon Poppyseed) so much that I wrote to them asking if they would provide me a sampler pack to share with a blogger!

Luscious Lemon Poppyseed Cookies

MY FAVORITE!!!

And here is what I have to share with one blogger friend (see photo below):

  • one Luscious Lemon Poppyseed Cookie
  • one Colossal Chocolate Chip Cookie
  • one Outrageous Oatmeal Raisin Cookie with Walnuts
  • one Double Chocolate Decadence Cookie

Alternative Baking Company Cookies

Thank you for providing these, Alternative Baking Company!

So, I think I would want to try the Luscious Lemon Poppyseed flavor the most. I’ve already tried the Pumpkin Spice and it was seriously AMAZING. And the first vegan cookie I had ever had πŸ™‚

  2. I LOVE their cookies!!! They’re all so delicious and chewy! Their pumpkin ones are my favorite in the fall πŸ™‚

  3. And for an extra entry, here is a link to one of the best cookie recipes I ever came up with! I’m normally not a baker at all, but these were DANG good, if I do say so myself πŸ˜‰

  4. Sammi says:

Since you love the Luscious Lemon Poppyseed one so much, I’m going to have to go with that one! I love all things lemon poppyseed πŸ™‚ but I’ve never tried a cookie of that flavor!
Have you been reading my mind or something? I have been craaaaaving cookies for like the past month! haha. That craving would probably go away if I give my body what it wants, but I’m not usually one for buying myself cookies lol.

  5. kapgar says:

Totally the Outrageous Oatmeal Raisin. While the rest are also good flavors in concept, few things can top a well-made oatmeal raisin cookie. But therein lies the rub, it’s gotta be a good one. Very few companies can lay claim to that. The other great thing about this type of cookie is it’s one that both Katie and I love to no rnf. Sure, we both like chocolate chip and whatnot, but Katie gets “sweeted out” by too much chocolate sometimes. And so many companies are so quick to overload on chocolate and the like to make their cookies standout that she can only eat maybe a half of one. So a good oatmeal raisin is great to counter that.

  6. Karla says:

And speaking of pumpkin cookies, I had a recipe that I got from my mom awhile back that was for iced pumpkin cookies. They are SO GOOD. I can’t find the recipe right now so here’s a similar one: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/iced-pumpkin-cookies-recipe/index.html (except my recipe doesn’t have raisins in it)

I also made these Orange Vanilla cookies this summer and they were a huge hit:

    Orange Vanilla Chip Cookies

These cookies were inspired by a recipe in Country Living magazine. It’s rather unique and reminds us of eating Creamsicles. People’s mouths water over these! If you can’t find vanilla chips, use white chocolate chips.

    2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest
    1 cup vanilla chips

    *Preheat oven to 350 degrees
*In a large bowl, sift together the flower, the baking soda, and the salt. Set aside.
*In large bowl, cream the butter with the sugars until smooth, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and mix well. Add the flower mixtures and beat thoroughly. Stir in the orange zest and the vanilla chips. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving several inches between for expansion. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
*Cool the cookies on the sheets for 1 minute, then remove to a rack to cool completely.

  115. Kimberlie Smith says:

Phenominal is all I have to say about these cookies. Volumes of taste, a great texture and I didn’t experience a sugar low later (important). I’m a dieter and looking to replace the junk I eat with something better. I’ve incorporated a cookie a week into my diet as a reward and what a lucious reward it is too. So far I’ve enjoyed the Pumpkin Spice and the Espresso Choc Chip. Can’t say enough about the flavor of these wonderful cookies. May have ruined me entirely for other store bought cookies forever.
