Helper Cat is helpful

What would I do without Helper Cat there to assist me in the bathroom

and in the kitchen in the morning?

Surely, I would be at least 20 minutes behind schedule. Thanks Helper Cat!

Now, if only Helper Cat could help me get through all the unread items I have in Google Reader… yikes. It may take me some time folks, but I will eventually catch up with reading your blogs!

What do you use to keep track of the blogs you read (Google Reader or other/nothing)? When you travel and fall behind on reading blogs do you try to catch up or just “mark all as read”/skip the posts you missed while you were gone?

I always try to catch up – yeah, that’s me, commenting on the thing you wrote over a week ago!

I use google reader, and when I get behind, I try to catch up on most blogs (and will comment on multiple posts at one time…oops?), but sometimes I just mark all as read…I do skim, however!

  2. I wish I had a helper cat :). I use Google Reader. Depending on the blog, I may “mark all as read” but I find that incredibly hard to do on most blogs. I end up reading and maybe just won’t comment as much as I otherwise would have.

Aww helper cat is so cute!! I use Google reader to keep track of all the blogs! There are just so many and otherwise I would really get overwhelmed.

Gah, I wish Bodger would take a hint from Helper Cat. Un-helper Bodger trips me up every morning. πŸ™‚

I have my Reader organized so that there are some sections where I just hit “Mark all as Read” and skip. Others, I enjoy reading, so I catch up. If it’s backlogged like 5 posts though, I will usually pick and choose the ones on which I leave comments.

I have it set up that way too. I have a “blogs to check out” folder and a “no comment blogs” folder that I mark “all as read” quite frequently πŸ˜‰

    Oh, Data!

Things like news sites and blogs that update A LOT I usually mark all as read in Google reader. Otherwise I’ll skim things but only comment on a few.

  6. I read them, but sometimes skim. And I’m not great about commenting if I’m behind!

  7. Kierstan says:

My cat does the same thing! πŸ™‚ Cute…and then annoying.

I use Google Reader and if I get too far behind, I will mark all as read for some of the “bigger” more well known blogs.

  8. LMAO!!!! Data is so cute and such a good helper cat!!! He is so full of personality you just have to love him!!!
    =^..^=

I use Google reader and catch up on blogs when I get behind too. I’ll mark newsy-type things as read after skimming, but the blogs I read all the way through…even if it means I’m a whole week behind (which I was until yesterday when I caught up!) πŸ™‚

Oh, Helper Cat! I have lots of stuff for you to help me out at my house so come on over.

  11. gina says:

ps…I really, really, really, really, love the header.

  12. Holly says:

I’m convinced Data is the cutest cat ever. You know how they say some cats are more like people?? Data seems like one of those….(and that is a TOTAL, compliment, Data!)

I do use Google Reader, and have had to click “Read all” once or twice. It gives me hives! Okay, not really, but in the big scheme of things, it’s just necessary sometimes. Especially after being on a vacation!

      Aww, thanks Holly πŸ™‚

Marking all as read makes me feel really bad too. Which is silly. People probably don’t care at all!

I use Google Reader and just had to hit the “Mark All As Read” last night because I was about 2 weeks behind on some blogs. I have my blogs organized in folders where some I can just hit MAAR and don’t feel too badly about it and others I must read every post.

  14. Lauren says:

I always try to catch up too, but sometimes, I just pick a few posts from each blog to read. I just have too many favorite blogs to read them all!

  15. Laurie says:

We have a cat like this — whenever there is a chore in progress, he is sure to be right there, ready to help.

  16. Kandi says:

    I love Helper Cat. πŸ˜‰
I am doing the same as you! Trying to catch up my feed reader. I am trying to prioritize what to read first but when I know a post is probably going to be longer, I hold off if it’s something I really want to read.

  17. sizzle says:

I use a Google Reader and when I’m overwhelmed with life or travel, I do mark all as read. I have a section marked always so I will read those, maybe not comment, then mark the rest as read.

  18. Etta says:

hahaha.. Are you neglecting poor Data? Is that why he always wants your attention?

FWIW, one of my dogs thinks that I need to pick her up and snuggle her every. single. time. I sit down to pee.

  19. He he, that first photo is a classic πŸ˜‰

I have a helper dog. She likes to help unwrap gifts πŸ˜‰

What a cute post! Your cat is adorable πŸ™‚

  22. martymankins says:

Our cat is far from being a helper cat. If anything, he needs help to do just about anything outside of sleeping.

I use two programs to keep track of the blogs I read: Google Reader on the computers and then Reeder for the iPhone and iPad.

  23. Katie H. says:

Data is so hilarious. Such a funny picture!

I always try to catch up on my google reader. I’ve hit mark all as read one or twice though πŸ˜€
