Friday Question #157

By , May 27, 2011 5:57 am

If you have or could have a vanity plate for your car, what does/would it say and mean?

(assuming a hypothetical car if you don’t have one)

You probably all know I drive the KIMBOT:

Ha! I wish. Here is my real car, which I love just as much as the Ferrari F430 (even though I am not very good at keeping it clean on the outside).

The KIMBOT plate has been transferred from Iowa to Illinois (and been through quite a bit):

Kimbot is a random nickname my younger brother gave me and I thought it was funny so I used it. No one really calls me Kimbot, but you can, if you would like.

And who is this young fellow?

Could that be STEVEZ?

Okay, maybe young is the wrong word. That is Steven’s 1978 Datsun 280Z. He got the “STEVEZ” plate because it can be read like Steve’s Z (get it?). STEVENZ was already taken, bummer.

Can anyone read the vanity plate on my dad’s ’39 Chevy Coupe?

I don’t think I need to explain the meaning behind THAT.

Alright, enough car talk. Happy Friday!

I’ve never had a vanity plate and I wouldn’t have a clue what I would put on one. I like all your plates though.

Yay! The Datsun has a name!

You know, of course, I drive SONWY21 and Jason drives ELVNTY1. Vanity plates are definitely something my family does. Everyone has one. It would be weird to drive a car with a randomly generated plate! Although, before Jason’s became ELVNTY1 he had a random number/letter plate and it was D933933. Easy to remember!

I LOVE The kimbot plate. I’m not sure what I would have on mine. RUNNR maybe or something like that.

  4. Kierstan says:

My plate would say ‘Kier is the prettiest girl in the whole wide world.’ Wait – I think that might be a few too many letters long…

For security purposes, no fancy plates. 🙂 The first thing that popped in my head seeing Steven’s plate was Life Aquatic.

I’ve never had vanity plates – I could never come up with anything I thought was cool enough – but John has had a few in the past. He loves playing on the website and making stuff up and seeing if it’s available…

FUN friday post! In highschool I was obsessed with Pepsi, and as a present for my 16th birthday my uncle paid for me to get personalized plates on my first car. So of course i went with PEPCGRL but a lot of people didn’t get it and just referred to me as the PEPPY girl because I was so peppie! Anyways, I still have that license plate hanging on my wall. Once I hit college I decided to retire the PEPCGRL. Though I sometimes miss the personalized plates. But the other issue was this.. I went on to work for Starbucks and Red Bull after hs, and what would my plates have said then? SBUXGRL or RDBLLGL or WIINGZ lol!

Ha ha! I like PEPCGRL and the others one. I think you should go back to vanity plates! 🙂

I’ve had one vanity plate before. When I was married to my first wife, we had DM1, which (in all honesty) had two meanings: 1) for Denise and Marty and 2) Depeche Mode is my favorite band. This was in my late 20’s (well, they are still my favorite band, I just don’t let people know that from my license plate)
