Back at it?

By , June 15, 2016 6:45 am

I picked up some yarn on Saturday to knit a few dishcloths.

No one wants any dishcloths. And I won’t use them*. And the start of first one is kind of wonky because my hands are remembering how to hold even tension on the yarn. But I wanted something to do on our flight to and from Alaska, and after dinner, to keep my hands busy. And a dishcloth is a good place to start to remind my hands what to do, before I try something more complicated.

And yay, my hands remembered how to knit! I haven’t knitted anything since January, and I was excited to remember how to do it (again) without having to look anything up.

I’m also thinking about buying a copy of Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike to read on the plane. Has anyone read it?

*Mica suggested saving them for gifts (pair with soap!) – which I probably will (well, if they turn out okay, ha!).

I usually take the summers off from crochet. just doesn’t seem as easy to fit in especially with it being nice outside.

Yay! I hope you enjoy it this time as well! A lot of people hate knitting dishcloths because of the yarn; they say it hurts their hands and is horrible to work with. I’ve never minded it though!

Oh, weird! It totally doesn’t bother me! Although, I am kind of thinking it would be better in the round than using my straights!

  4. I think it’s funny that you say no one wants dishcloths. I keep trying to convince myself to get out my crochet hooks and get some yarn so that I can make them. My grandma really likes them so I try to do it every so often to refresh her stash. I think you need some old ladies in your life!

I think I do need more old ladies cause my grandma is the only one who asks for them (and actually uses them) and her stash is good. I can send some to your grandma. Ha ha. Do you think you could find time to crochet some?

      • I usually crochet at night when I’m watching TV to keep my hands busy. I mean, when I crochet. It’s a good way to keep me off my phone. I just need to get to the craft store and get some yarn.
