Notes:

  • My right knee was so tired this week. I think it’s either from crawling around in the attic so much the last three weeks, or needing new shoes, or a combo of both. The good news is, I won’t be in the attic as much in the future, and I have new shoes I can wear, so I’ll see if those two things help! Or maybe my body was just like, “Whoa, we’re actually running our normal amount this week? WTH?”
  • Yay! I actually did get to run my preferred 6 days, and 40 miles this week! HORRAY!!!!
  • Friday was the last day the pool Anne and I swim in after class is open for lap swim in the summer. Sadness! We both really enjoyed going there after class. I’d kind of like to find another pool I (we!) can drop in and swim laps for relaxation, but I don’t think I am going to find another one with a $3 drop in fee!

Super bummed that swimming is already over for the season 🙁 Doing that back-to-back with your class was definitely tiring, but also really fun! There is a nearby indoor pool that has lap swims after Friday class, but the drop-in fee is $6!

  2. Chaitali says:

I was wondering what the sad faces were about in the pool photo! Too bad that it’s the last day. That’s a great price for the drop in fee.

Glad you could get your mileage back up – hopefully your knee will catch up. All that stooping and crawling had to mess with it.
I thought about trying lessons swimming for Sept. but now I am thinking it is not the right time – trying to increase my mileage and something new at the same time may make me crumble ya think? One of these days I want to learn a real swim stroke!
Why do you hate a visor?

    • kilax says:

Yeah, and you might be pressed for time! When you do have time to swim though, I recommend it! I find it helps big time for recovery!

Visors make me sweaty and make my head feel so hot – they hold the heat in.

  4. Alyssa says:

I actually swam at Grayslake Aquatic Center last Thursday morning because my gym pool was closed (and is still closed this week too grrrr). I’m glad I read about that pool here or I would never have known about their morning swim hours! And $3 is a steal! I’ve been looking for other places to go and the pool nearest me is $12, yikes! I wish Grayslake was open for 1 more week!

    • kilax says:

Oh awesome – that you swam there, not that your gym is closed! Let me know if you ever find anything cheap for swimming – there is a Y I am looking at, but I think the drop in rate is still $$
