Back to reality

Did anyone else sing “oh, there goes gravity” after reading that title?

This weekend was my attempt to get my life and our house back in order before leaving for a work trip Sunday afternoon. I was kind of successful!

FRIDAY!

On Friday we ran errands (GROCERIES!!!), picked up a (free for my birthday!) pizza, and played with Apollo and Starbuck. We were going to watch a movie, but before we knew it, it was 10:00! Time flies when you’re playing with kittens!

SATURDAY!

I did not get up early and work out Saturday morning… I got up and played with the kittens! <— recurring theme

I taught fitness boxing, ran after, then spent most of the afternoon cleaning the house. And taking kitten pictures.

I hung this caricature up while I was cleaning.

Look! Apollo’s toe beans are multi-colored!

Jen, Troy, and Declan came over to celebrate my birthday/catch up. We ate Chinese food, and… played with the kittens!

SUNDAY!

I was hoping I’d somehow wake up full of energy and want to do a long run, but nope. Exhausted. So I got out of bed and played with the kittens.

We made breakfast and I prepped some of the produce for the week,

then packed and took care of things around the house. And played with the kittens (including Khali – I’ve been making sure to play with her every time she sees us with the kittens! Data is still hanging out in the bathtub.).

I did take a thirty minute nap (with the kittens!) before it was time to leave for the airport at 3:00. Then you know, blah blah blah, crowded airport, delayed flight, got to my hotel at 9:45 and hadn’t had dinner yet, late night, etc.

I’m in Jeffersonville, IN (via Louisville, KY) for work until Tuesday afternoon. I actually visited this town three times in the summer of 2011, and am not too thrilled to be back (for work)! But I remember I enjoyed running here, so I’m looking forward to that.

They are so frickin cute!!!!!!! Is Khali still checking them out…or are they in the same room now?

Thank you!!! She is. She’ll watch them when they are gated off, or go up to the gate to glare. When I left, we still had them separated, but Steven let them roam free today. He’ll still have them sleep in a separate room tonight!

I love all the kitten photos! They’re so cute 🙂 And I’m sure Khali appreciates the equal play time too. Are they all getting along?

    • kilax says:

      Thank you!!!

I hope she does! Not quite – she is growling at them, and batting, and they are hissing at her. Hopefully that only lasts a few more weeks! Also, I showed them to Data, individually, by putting them in the tub with him, and Data was all “whatevs” but they hissed. Dorks.

  3. OMG! Multi colored toe beans!!!! Just when I thought the kittens couldn’t get any cuter…! I can’t say I blame you for spending so much time playing with them and taking pictures of them – I don’t know how you could really hope to do anything else, honestly, with all that cuteness around! They’re so precious 🙂

IKR?! Who even knew that was a thing?!!?!?!? And thanks 🙂 🙂 🙂 I really need to figure out how to play with them several hours a day AND be a somewhat functioning adult, ha!

Of course you played with the kittens all weekend – that’s exactly what you should be doing! They grow out of kittenhood so fast ya gotta enjoy as much of it as possible. They are so cute and it’s sweet to see them sleeping and cuddling together. Nice that they are so bonded to each other; hopefully they will let Khali in on the lovefest soon.

    • kilax says:

They really do grow fast! I keep thinking how we need to take it all in and cherish the time when they are little crazy mofos (instead of full grown crazy mofos).

I love that they are bonded like that and do hope Khali joins! She always wanted to cuddle with Data!

  5. It is all about the kittens! Love it!

I bet the kittens are so fun to play with. They look so sweet.

When you prep produce for the week, do you know in advance how you will use it?

    • kilax says:

      They are so much fun!!!

I know we’ll use peppers and carrots for salads and eat the fruit for snacks. Other than that, nope! We don’t meal plan, but I know we almost always eat all of our produce.

Aaahhh, glad you’re having such a wonderful time playing with the kittens!!!
