Random Thoughts Thursday 193

  • Ahhh!!! I received some super thoughtful custom gifts! This mug from my snis, and these socks from xaarlin. Both of them had me looking like the cat making home alone face emoji!!!

Christina said this originally said “All you need is love and a cat (and coffee).” I love that she changed “coffee” to “chai tea latte”! And I love that all my cats are on the mug!

Ha, when I opened these socks, I think I said “Is that Data?!” four or five times. So cool!

  • The RAGBRAI store (finally) opened three weeks after the event and I was able to order my 2018 pin! And put it in a drawer with the other four. Why am I collecting these? Ha.

  • We’ve been shutting Data in the bedroom, so he can eat at his pace without other cats gobbling up his food. Someone does NOT like that and digs up the carpet. Sigh.

  • We let the dishwasher sit open after it’s done washing, to let the dishes dry. Not so much anymore. Someone thinks it’s a playground! Thanks for keeping us on our game, Apollo!

  • Cute picture of Starbuck and Apollo:

  • How is Data doing? Not great. He is eating a little and using the litter box, but losing weight. A few nights in a row, he seemed to like being petted for a long time, but he wasn’t interested in that last night.

  • I was able to finish A Lady’s Guide to Selling Out, and The Last Time I Lied on our flights to and from Kansas City (I was almost done with both) and am now reading Extreme Ownership. I recommend both of those novels! A Lady’s Guide to Selling Out felt so current/relevant, and The Last Time I Lied kept me guessing until the end. Like, literally, the last page!

  • Good news for anyone who cares, ha ha – I had previously lamented that the new gmail is getting rid of Labs, which contains “undo send.” Good news – they made “undo send” a permanent setting you can use! Woot!
  • I had more random bullets on here but the internet ate them! That is probably for the better!

That’s so frustrating when blog posts get eaten! And how funny that the kittens see the dishwasher as a playground 🙂 I guess anything can be fun when you’re a kitten.

Yeah, I was like “Wait, didn’t I mention ‘undo send,’ and something else?” Ha ha ha, it was NOT meant to be!

Yes! And that’s so fun for us to see what they play with – everything!

he he I knew Apollo would be a little troublemaker!!
I’ll check out some of those books, thanks for the reviews.

  3. My aunt and uncle’s dog (and, actually, the dog before the current dog they have) was ALL ABOUT climbing on the dishwasher to lick the leftovers off plates, haha. My dog never had any interest in the dishwasher, which upon reflection is really odd, since he was definitely very interested in human food – though we’d usually let him lick up dinner leftovers from our plates before they even went in the dishwasher in the first place, so maybe he didn’t think there was anything left on them worth his time, hahaha. Also, how is Apollo three cats in one?? I don’t think I ever noticed it until that dishwasher picture, but he seriously is like a totally different cat on his head than he is on his body than he is on his legs!

I will admit that you were the first person I thought of when Gmail announced it was going to force everyone over to the new version. I’m glad they still have undo send for you!

I never even thought about how the dishwasher and plate licking activity is totally normal for dogs! Your dog must have just known by the time they got to the dishwasher they were useless. Ha!

Apollo does have a lot of variety in his striping! I love how it looks like he has finger stripes on his butt (like someone dipped their fingers in paint and dragged them down him).

ha ha ha! Thanks for thinking of me! And thankfully I’ll still have that 30 seconds to “unsend”!

That mug is so perfect! I love it. 🙂

I’m so glad you liked The Last Time I Lied. I was hopeful that Riley Sager would live up to his first book, and he totally did. I was kept guessing until the last page, too!

  5. Shelley B says:

I adore the striping on Apollo’s back! And kittens – I swear, just when you think you’ve seen every thing and place that they will play with/get into, they find something new!

I love those gifts and those pins! Are those a new race thing? I’d definitely prefer a pin to a medal–are they giving them out for road races these days too?

I just put a hold on “The Last Time I Lied,” but I’m #40. Thanks for the suggestion!

I can’t believe Khali is digging up the carpet. That seems like such a dog thing to do. C’mon, kitty!

I’ve only ever seen these pins at RAGBRAI, and always bought it at the merchandise tent after. That would be a cool thing to get at a race. One race I did gave me a medal and a pin for second place.

Oh wow! That’s cool you can see how far down the list you are.

It’s SUCH a dog thing to do. Sigh, Khali.
