Nope rope followup

By , October 5, 2018 9:19 am

So maybe I jinxed myself by talking about nope ropes. We were in the basement last night, and Steven goes “what the f*ck?!” while looking at the wall, and I am looking at it, looking for whatever he is what the f*cking, and I don’t see anything.

“What is it?!” I ask.

“A nope rope!”

It was maybe a foot long

Ha. Ha ha ha. I love that he called it that, because the whole reason I polled you guys on knowing what it is is because he said no one does.

Fun fact: nope ropes are called danger noodles when they have poisonous venom (Steven said he likes danger noodle better), and apparently, they have many other names:

These Lucidchart vids crack me the hell up

I grabbed our small animal transport box, which is a shoebox with a bunch of holes punched in it.

Hey! Guess what? Snakes can get through holes!

I hurried upstairs to release him, but he was slithering out by the time I got to the door leading in to the garage. I had to turn the box so he wouldn’t drop on the floor (in to our house!) and hurry to open up the garage door and run outside in my socks and put him in the driveway. Ha. I went back in, put my shoes on, put him back in the box, then put him in the woods.

Fun times.

But really, snakes don’t bother me. Spiders don’t either. Just things that have TOO MANY LEGS. Like centipedes. Okay, and earworms do gross me out.

Here are some other animal pictures from yesterday:

You are one brave woman!! I am not really scared of snakes but I’m not touching one either! I am afraid of spiders though. Love the kitty pics! Looks like Khalessi is taking on the role of big sister very well. So sweet!! Are those black swans on your deck? Very cool!!

I didn’t touch him – just coaxed him in to the box. I was worried I’d drop him if I tried to touch him. 😉

      I think she is too!

Those are our neighbors ducks… mating on our patio. Ha ha ha.

Good lord I’m terrified just reading that! A snake! IN YOUR HOUSE?! Holy crap. The next time Terry says he wants to get a house “out in the country” I’m going to make sure he’s okay with doing the snake clearing-out all by himself (and he probably will be).

Khali’s face in the second picture amuses me, as if she’s rolling her eyes at those two kitties 🙂

    • kilax says:

Oh gosh, yeah, we deal with a lot of animal “break ins” so definitely be prepped for that in your country home!!!

      I thought that too!

Snakes gross me out so bad. I would not have carried that box. We be calling some sort of professional ha ha. Boomer did come into the house in SC one time with a baby one but it was dead so i dealt with that 🙂
I’m loving all the cuddling Khali is doing with the kittens, so sweet.

    • kilax says:

LOL! But this guy was so tiny! Oh, Boomer! Maybe he would protect you if one shows up!

Me too! She was lying there, then the kittens joined her!

  4. Christina says:

I didn’t realize your nope rope was so tiny!! Little cutie. How do you think he got in? How will you keep him out? 🙂

    • kilax says:

It’s hard to tell the scale, right?! We are NOT sure how he got in or how to keep him out. That part is frustrating Steven!

  5. Shelley B says:

    OH. HELL. NO.

There are certain times when I’m all BURN IT DOWN rather than try to deal with something and that qualifies!

  6. Amy says:

I much prefer the pictures of the other animals!

But kind of you to save him and put him back outside where he belongs…

  7. Xaar says:

    The ducks…. are ducking!! 😂😂😂

Whoa! Quite impressive the nope rope got into your basement. We used to get them in our patio in florida- I don’t think any made it into the house except for the one I kept as a pet for a while.

I love the pics of Khali and the kittens. Her RBF is perfection.

  8. Oh my gosh, I would DIE if I found a snake in my house. NO THANK YOU. I wonder how on earth he got into the basement??

    • kilax says:

I wonder too! We spend a lot of time sealing holes and it seems new ones always appear. I think our house is still settling… 45 years later 😉
