Notes:

  • I had a higher mileage goal in mind this week. Oops. Next week. I have a hard time getting up early to run when I stay up late with houseguests (excuses!!!).
  • And those mileage goals may not be met in the heat (more excuses!!!). My Sunday run felt good, but I just can’t go as far, or as fast, once the temp gets in to the 60s/70s.
  • I knew I was going to have some soreness from trying trapeze. It was just a matter of where and when. Sunday morning. Pecs, abs and latissimus dorsi. It was humorous when I took my parents to see the studio where I teach and my mom asked me to do a pullup. I could barely lift my arms up to reach the bar without feeling pain. And that moment was caught on camera. Awesome. Teaching should be interesting tomorrow!

That picture is priceless! I’ve been doing my runs either in the morning or later at night now because running in the heat isn’t much fun. Thankfully biking is much better option for now!
I’ve made my mom ride the bike beside me while I was running and I loved it! It is nice to have company.

Good for you for being able to get up and get those runs in before it gets crazy hot! I have been trying to do that and am really struggling!

I loved your trapeze recap, sounds so fun!
I’ve been having a hard time running in the heat, I never thought I would wish for it to be colder!

Sounds like your training is going really well. Love the description of how your Monday run felt–most of my runs are feeling too hot lately, too. I’m hoping we’ll get in a few more days (maybe even weeks?) of cooler temps before it really decides to be summer. Hope your shoulder and chest muscles feel better soon!

That pic cracked me up! Trapeze looked awesome though!! I had a really hard time in the heat this weekend and noticed that the two mornings I ran early were so much more enjoyable. Seems like afternoon runs are out and super early is in (ugh!)

That’s so awesome your dad rode the bike with you! My hubby will often do that, it makes the run so much nicer! (And he can hold my drink!!)

LOVE the pic of the pull up…I look like that even when I’m not sore!!

  6. Erin says:

I hope you’re a little less sore tonight for class!

Haaa! I love that photo of you (but I’m not laughing at your pain!). Now you know how I feel after everyone whacked me during Wii tennis. 😛 KIDDING.

Ha ha ha! I got my mom and dad to play wii tennis and my mom loved it. I see where I get my spastic side from. My mom almost hit me a few times. I shall start a countdown to the days until you come back and I can abuse you again!
