The way to a woman’s heart is…

… through shoes*?

I wasn’t even going to mention Valentine’s Day, as it’s not particularly high on my holidays of importance radar, and because my husband is not even in the same state, but… my mom’s mom sent me this awesome homemade Valentine’s Day card, and I had to share it!

Grandma, you know me too well. Running shoes are the way to my heart. I am yours!

(Ahem, I am an Asics girl though)

Also, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I would like to share this story with you. Cute!

And, also in honor of Valentine’s Day (again), I would like to ask you:

What is your favorite kind of chocolate?

I am a dark chocolate girl, all the way. Lately, I have been loving dark chocolate with sea salt in it. Holy cow, that stuff is AMAZING! I also love dark chocolate with orange in it, and dark chocolate covered orange peels.

*running shoes for this girl!

    That card is adorable!

After the Hot Chocolate race in Chicago, they were giving out Ghiradelli squares of Sea Salt Soirée. It was the best chocolate I’ve ever eaten in my life! Sea salt, almonds, and dark chocolate… Yum!!

That is the cutest card ever! Sounds like something my mom would put together with the play on words. 🙂
I love dark chocolate also. Do you have to get special vegan chocolate?
I have a bar of dark chocolate with sea salt and organic coffee and it is amazing! (though I know you don’t care for coffee)

Really, only milk chocolate should have milk in it, but sometimes milk derivatives are in dark chocolate, so I just have to read the label. 🙂

  3. abbi says:

That is so cute! Dark chocolate all the way for me as well!

  4. Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I’m not one to discriminate when it comes to chocolate- I love it all!

  5. I love that card! So sweet!

As for chocolate, I don’t really love any kind of chocolate but every once in a while I will crave milk chocolate. I don’t like dark or white chocolate at all.

  6. bobbi says:

DARK chocolate! And your Grandma is so cool 🙂

  7. gina says:

Dark Chocolate – love those orange Chocolate Ball things.

    I love your Grandma!

I should have brought you the rest of ours from Christmas. It’s just been sitting on our dining room table 🙂

  8. Amy says:

Dark chocolate definitely – there is an amazing one they make here with salted almonds…mmmm…

Omg — that is the cutest thing ever! I love that the card was so personal to you! I’m a dark chocolate girl ALL the way!

  10. That card is awesome! Unfortunately for me I love ALL chocolate at ALL times! 🙂

  11. Melissa says:

Mmmmm…chocolate! (unless it is super cheap/gross chocolate, I’m pretty much favorable to all types!)

Have you ever tried dark chocolate with chili pepper? It’s awesome with a nice (not too strong) kick at the end.

  12. Laurel says:

You gotta love Grams! Chocolate…with sea salt? Wow, I’ll have to look for that! Happy VD.

  13. Emily says:

Adorable card! By the way – I have a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 13 shoes, too (the white, red, and turquoise ones). They are great!

I am an equal opportunity chocolate eater. I eat all chocolate!

Have you noticed any difference from the 12s? I am still mostly in the 12s but started using my 13s on Sunday to see if it helps with my messed up foot.

  14. Gingerfoxxx says:

That card is so cute, it made me giggle! And i *gasp* don’t like chocolate. I like super sweet things, like jelly beans, and sweet tarts, etc…. (my secret is out!)

    • kilax says:

Ahh? Are you crazy?! Just kidding. I don’t have to have chocolate every day and if it was not for sea salt and orange dark chocolate I would not eat it as much as I do 🙂

  15. Courtney says:

Happy Valentine’s Day Kim!! Your grandma’s card is so cute!!! That is so sweet!! I’m not a big fan of chocolate… is that weird?!?
    =^..^=

  16. That card is so cute! I love it. 🙂

I bought milk chocolate with sea salt a little while ago – it’s my new favorite thing. I don’t even want to talk about how much of it I ate last night.

  17. Kelly says:

I don’t discriminate – give me chocolate, any kind and lots of it. I just stole an awesome brownie from another department’s celebration and it was wonderful.

  18. Etta says:

This will be a chocolate-free Valentine’s for me. It’s probably for the best, though.

Hubs painted our dining room this weekend and said it was my Valentine’s Day gift. 😛

  19. Christina says:

Yum dark chocolate with sea salt with carmel is one of my favorites.

  20. martymankins says:

Dark chocolate for me, too. Hershey’s for the cheap and Lindt for the good stuff.

  21. J says:

Such a cute card!! I didn’t get any cards for V-day 🙁 but Brian did get me some candy!

  22. Erin says:

That card is so adorable! Go, Grandma!

I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate. I prefer milk chocolate when I crave it at all. Although, honestly, I just haven’t had a taste for it lately. Didn’t stop me from eating chocolate mousse for dessert tonight, though.

  23. ChezJulie says:

Your grandma’s card is too cute. I can tell she is your mom’s mom!

I second the dark chocolate with chili peppers thing – the Lindt bar is so good.
