Notes:

  • So, speedwork before strength class.  NEVER again.
  • But! I had a lot of fun strength workouts this week. Bobbi and I did a partner session on Monday. We got to use mini trampolines, and then alternate between the TRX and resistance bands. And on Friday I rode the bike in between my strength moves!
  • In kickboxing on Saturday, the instructor encouraged me to try a left leg forward kick followed by a right leg round house kick… by bringing the right leg up before the left one touches the ground from the first kick. Yeah. I am not that coordinated. I kicked the plastic under the punching bag and bruised my right foot. Ouch!
  • I am not eating right (enough/timing) to power through my runs. I have got to figure that out!

  1. man, you do kickboxing eh! I don’t think I’d have the coordination for that. Pretty cool!

  2. Pete B says:

That bike and bars looks hard. I have never done that, but once I once biked to and from a massive beer garden/bar in Munich! 🙂

  3. Michele @ Running for Oreos says:

I want to do the bike with bar! What was the routine on that one? I have a bar AND bike in the home gym, and I usually do them on the same day, just not at the same time. Please tell me!!! How many reps, how fast on the bike?

Looks kinda fun, but I’m a weirdo like that!

    • kilax says:

Ha ha. I should have marked that pic as “posed.” I was teasing my trainer about whether or not he is going to do biking with weights in the cycling class that starts next week (which I am attending) and he said he thought it would be too intense. But! I do think you could do some bicep curls while biking. Just do them until your arms get sore! Ha ha 🙂

  4. bobbi says:

Glad I got to do a few of those with you!! Yesterday’s run was just what I needed 🙂

I hope you get your nutrition straightened out…that’s so tough!

  5. Christina says:

I also am not eating right for my runs. I will eat too early before a run or not eat at all after my run. Looks like you had a pretty solid week of training 🙂

  6. Maggie says:

That picture of you gals jumping on the tramps is too cute.

  7. Anne says:

Wait, what was the compliment from the fellow student?

I’m glad I was part of two of your runs – it’s so much more fun running with you than by myself!

    • kilax says:

She said, “You are really good at this, you must come a lot!” It was only my second class 😉

Me too! I love running with you. So happy you came up Friday. And that Monday worked out so well last week, lol 😉

  8. J says:

You had an awesome week! I love doing double workouts even when its not two runs. I like running in the morning and then going to the total body class at my gym. Its tough to squeeze it all in cause the class is at 6am but still I like doing two things per day. It does take up a lot of time so usually I only do it about 2-3x a week. Mondays – running and yoga, Thursday – running and total body, Saturdays – running and pilates.

  9. Erin says:

Your kickboxing class sounds like a ton of fun! Any chance for a drop in?

Also, a cycling class??? Can Brian clone himself and open a studio by my apartment? Although, I’m sure I could find cycling classes in the city but they are $$$$. The one time I did Flywheel, though, we did use weights for part of the class so it’s not unheard of.

    • kilax says:

Yes! They have it Tues/Thurs/Sat and there is drop-ins 😉 Maybe if we do the March 9 glass blowing we could go… all sweaty. LOL. Come up another time?

Yeah! Brian started a Multisport Club (did I tell you about this?) and is offering a ton of classes and seminars. The classes are only $8 ea (he charges way too little) and the club is $50 a year. I think he does need to clone himself 😉

  10. Erin says:

Wow- trampoline for cross training and strength? My gym options are lame compared to yours 😉
