In cat news…

  • Data is eating! But gawd, his poo. OMG. It is not, uh, very solid. And he has one goopy eye. I think the poor guy has a cold. He’s going to the vet next week if he’s not better.

  • Speaking of the vet… they posted this video yesterday of a stray cat giving birth and mentioned the kittens will be up for adoption. I hadn’t thought much more about getting a kitten but now I feel the urge to go meet these cats!!!

  • Last week Steven asked me what I thought about selling Snow’s house. All the sads. That’s how I feel. I get where he’s coming from – we don’t use it anymore. And it just sits there and makes us miss Snow. But gosh, Steven put SO MUCH work in to it. Can’t it be, uh, like a safe haven for the neighborhood strays? Sigh. I miss our Snowbert.

  • Khali continues to be a total sweetie and become more and more comfortable around us each day! She’s letting us approach and pet her without running off a lot more. Yay, progress!

  • I wonder if my fur children remembered Mother’s Day is this Sunday?! Ha! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms and mom figures!!!

I love all the cat photos! And yay for Data eating again 🙂 Hope he keeps getting better.

Just curious – do you trim you cats nails? I guess especially Khali? I have such a problem trimming Cleo’s nails (she hates me when I do it) – last time I had her boarded for a trip, I had them do it, which worked out great.

We do for Data. Sigh, we REALLY need to for Khali, but we are still working on that trust level. What happens when you try to trim Cleo’s? Does she suddenly have the strength of a panther? I am glad they could help out at the boarding place 🙂

Glad to hear that Data is eating again – he must have some stomach bug, especially with the *ahem* other end now being icky. Poor guy!

Don’t sell Snow’s house. It’s too pretty and you are right, it might just be the safe haven for wayward animals in the colder months.

Oh those newborn kittens!!! I can see the temptation…

    • kilax says:

Thanks, me too. I hope that’s all it is! It’s been over a week now 🙁 I feel bad for our cat sitter this weekend!

      Agreed. Obviously 😉

Right?! Ahh, I should at least go meet them!!!!

  4. Oh dear, that is a bit of a conundrum with the cat house 🙁 I can definitely see why keeping it would seem unnecessary, but man, SO much work went into building it in the first place! And even if you did sell it, it was designed to match your house, not someone else’s. What a crummy situation 🙁

    • kilax says:

That is a good point that it matches our house! Steven said it’s like a work of art though… so it could totally stand alone. Ha! 😉

  5. kathy says:

if you do sell the house (which I know is really hard) you’ll be giving some other outdoor kitty a level of luxury they’ll probably never get otherwise, considering the level of detail Steven went into with insulation etc.
Why don’t you let it stew for a while. Its coming into warm weather so a cat wouldn’t even really need it right now anyway.

    • kilax says:

True, we really would! And good point about not needing it so much in the summer. We’d definitely need to start talking about selling in the fall!

I’m glad Data is eating again! (Gah, Data, are you just one of those who’s like “Oh, I forgot to eat lunch. I was so busy!”?!?)

That video of the kitten being born a little bit grossed me out, but then I couldn’t believe how tiny the little paws were when the newborn stretched. I guess I’d never seen that before.

    • kilax says:

HA HA HA HA. It seems like he is, in old age. Gah, what’s that like??!?!?!?!?

Yeah, I didn’t realize that’s what it was cause I watched it on silent first and immediately went in to a kitten frenzy… when I watched it later I was like, “oh.” Ha. They’re sooooooooooooooo tiny!

Glad Data is eating again…and Happy Mother’s day to you, too!
