The weekend!

Woo hoo! What a good weekend!

FRIDAY!

Rachel arrived mid Friday afternoon and we got to hang on the deck for a bit before we went to packet pickup for the Wisconsin Half Marathon.

Ha, Data greeted Rachel outside, on his leash. Khali made eye contact with Rachel while here, but scurried away after a bit, each time. Progress.

Rachel brought me flowers (since I wrecked my car and because she’s a sweetie)

After packet pickup, we had MOD Pizza, then went to Bobbi’s to drop off her race packet (and chat for a bit!). I enjoyed visiting with Rachel, and was especially giggly after I had an Angry Orchard at MOD! I’m glad she came early so we could hang out a bit before the race.

SATURDAY!

I slept really poorly Friday night… but had been for the previous three nights anyway! I was up at 5:00 am, and we were out the door just after 5:30 to get to the race. We happily ran in to Bobbi and got to chat with her some more!

We also had fun chatting with the wife of the man who took the photo above. It’s fun to meet random people at races and connect with them over your love for running!

I ran the race and PR’d!

Then I enjoyed cheering people on with Steven, and talking to everyone after they finished to see how their race went, and whine about the hot sun together.

Rachel running a strong finish!

We hung out a bit longer, then we headed home, where I had a date with one of the awesome bath bombs Anne sent me last week!

Then it was on to a typical Saturday – we ate lunch and watched a movie (Jeff, Who Lives at Home), and ran errands. My new car has been getting detailed and having a few things replaced at the dealer, so have a loaner (which feels like a cushy boat compared to my car!).

Steven was in a baking mood and made this bread while I wrote my race recap,

OMG IT’S DELICIOUS

then we watched the last episode of Battlestar Galactica with dinner!

SUNDAY!

Ha, Data woke me up just after 5:00 am to eat… then didn’t eat. Sigh. He’s been getting skinnier and skinnier. Some days he eats a lot, and some, a little. We talked to the vet last week and there are some more tests he can do to see if it’s a thyroid or malabsorption issue. We are going to make sure it’s not just his food and him being picky, so we got him some other food to try, before we take him back in to the vet. What a turd.

I stayed up for a bit, then slept from 8:00 to just after 9:00. Luxurious! I woke up to Steven making breakfast!!!

I rode my bike (inside) after breakfast to shake out my legs. Then I picked up sticks while Steven mowed and trimmed the yard. I was feeling optimistic that my legs were gonna feel okay because I could bend over so much to pick up sticks, without pain!

But my quads buckled three times during our afternoon walk, so yeah, definitely feeling the effects of a hard race!!!

We had our normal Sunday evening of chores and dinner before heading upstairs for an early bedtime (we go upstairs before 9:00, fall asleep around 9:30). We’ve been trying to make sure we start the week out with enough sleep! I’ve been having a lot of anxiety dreams and waking up every hour or so for several days now. Ugh, I hope that stops soon, because even when I get enough sleep, I don’t feel like I did!

Sounds like a really full weekend! I hope poor Data is eating better soon and that the anxiety dreams stop. I hate those.

I hope he is too! I am scared his body is starting to fail him, although he seems fine otherwise!!!

Ugh. They are making me nuts! I had a dream Snow was back. And a dream about missing class in college. Like, so dumb. WHY BRAIN WHY?!?!?

    Your flowers are lovely!
Poor Data I hope he gets an appetite back soon.
Yep I’ve had lots of those nights and they suck. I wish I could offer some advice but I’m not the best at managing stress :p.

      Thank you!

I hope he does too. It seems he wants to graze, but that doesn’t work with his sister – she eats it all. Sigh. So we try to give him lots of secret snacks but she always hears it and shows up. Ha.

I hope neither of us have them any more! Blah!

  3. That bath bomb is so pretty! I should get bath bombs and put them in the water just to admire how nice they look – much lower risk of me breaking out in a rash that way! 😛

Anxiety dreams are dumb 🙁 I hope yours stop soon and you’re able to get a good night of rest!

LOL!!!! Wear some gloves so you can still play with them and make neat designs! I am still very sad you had that reaction and hope your doctor lets you know what you were allergic to in them so I can find you one that you can use. CAUSE I LOVE BATH BOMBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

They are SO DUMB! Thanks, I hope so too! (Because why am I STILL dreaming about college?! WHY?!)

I am thinking positive, hungry thoughts for poor Data Potatah.

Well shoot I hate to hear that Data is getting skinny. EAT, kitty!!

  6. Amy says:

Oh, dear, poor Data – I hope it’s nothing more than him just being picky. Other than that, it sounds like a great weekend!

That sounds like a perfect weekend to me! You had a little bit of everything, including freshly baked bread. I am so glad that Rachel brought you those beautiful flowers, especially after all the crap luck you’ve had with your car. What a sweet gift!

Also, you always make the FOAMIEST teas. I love it!

It was perfect! Perfectly mix of social, being productive, and chilling. And of course, I love that flowers are ORANGE!

Thanks! I am impressed our frother is still kicking after all these years!
