Things I’m excited about in June!

June is NUTSO this year, but it’s going to be a lot of fun! Here is what I am excited about!

  • Seeing all the family! In one weekend!
    • Grandma Pete* (Mom’s mom)
    • Grandma Tiger* (Dad’s mom) and her side of the family at a wedding in Minnesota
    • Steven’s cousin
  • Mom and Dad visiting
    • Celebrating Mom’s Birthday
    • The boys doing some projects (oh boy)
    • Working out with Dad
    • Going to NeoCon with Mom
  • Grandma’s Marathon!
    • Getting a pre-race massage
    • Roadtrippin’ with Bobbi and Riyanti
    • Seeing Gina and her friends (who are my friends by association, ha!)
    • Seeing a friend from college in Duluth
    • Going for a marathon PR!
  • Visiting Rachel and Kevin at the cottage they go to in central Wisconsin
  • A dentist appointment (I love having my teeth cleaned)
  • Seeing the Royals play the Brewers with Bobbi and John
  • Bowling
  • Collapsing at the end of the month

What’s on your list?!

*These are the pet names we’ve had for our grandparents since childhood, and we still call them that.

I’m so excited for you to slay grandma! 😂

Wow! You’ve got a LOT going on! So cool you’ll be able to see so much family and so many friends this month, and traveling so much! I hope the weather cooperates for the marathon and the cottage weekends!

Your love of the dentist reminds me that I can finally find one once we move! I kept holding off because we keep moving, but Terry and I are both way overdue.

I think you may have shared the story of Grandma Tiger before, but can’t recall. We still use plenty of old/childhood nicknames in my family too (in fact my toast at my brother’s wedding was about his most ridiculous nickname for me).

Also you forgot June’s most important holiday – National Donut Day (today)! Hope you can observe it!

Yes! I am excited about it all! (And hoping my week days are chill so I can recover?! ha). Thanks, I hope the weather is good too. Cool for the marathon, hot for the cottage. That’s not too much to ask for, right?!

Oh yes, do that as soon as you can! Dental health is important! I hope you are able to find someone good. We’ve struggled with it, as adults.

Ha! That’s funny! You should share it!

I don’t think I am going to celebrate (I don’t feel like driving anywhere for vegan donuts, or making them!) but I am excited to hear about other people having them!

Sounds like a great month. What projects are the boys planning? Is there much left to do at your house?

I have a final examl, a marathon (not a PR attempt as I’ll be doing half of it by myself) and a trip to Ireland to see my fam!!

You reminded me I have to do the dentist and doctor when I come back in July. I share your love of clean teeth …not so much the visit ha ha .

The boys are going to rent a boom lift so they can do things like clean out gutters, add caps to some bathroom vents, and maybe power wash the roof tiles. They may also install a hitch on my car and put in new sump pump covers. There is a lot to do at our house (and will be forever) but it’s more upkeep/efficiency things than super urgent stuff.

Oooo! You have quite the month too! Good luck with everything and I hope you enjoy it all (even the exam?! lol).

Yes, do it! Clean teeth are important!

  4. Goodness, what a month! So many things involving grandmas! Haha 😛 The Brewers are going to start to think you’re a fan of theirs, what with you going to two of their games in a month! Haha.

    • kilax says:

Ha! That is true – I didn’t think about all the Grandmas! Ha!

Hmm, I wonder if they will think that, since I keep wearing my Royals hat there!!! It’s a fun ballpark to go to! Have you been to a game there?

  5. Mica says:

I had to look up with Neocon was. Do you go with your mom for her work or for your work? (I think it’s because she tags along with you, but I can’t remember if that’s right.)

Your marathon plans sound so fun because you’ve made a whole weekend out of it. Is everyone going for a PR that weekend?

    • kilax says:

Yeah, it’s definitely for my work. She is there for the experience (read: free stuff!!!!). We had a lot of fun last year!

Yes! I am looking forward to all parts of that weekend! So much time with friends! I think two of the people in Gina’s group are going for PRs. One isn’t, and I don’t think my two friends doing the half are 🙂

  6. Stephany says:

Haha, I like how your dentist appointment made it on the list. I spent so much time in the past few years dreading my dentist appointments so I… just didn’t go. (I KNOW.) But then I decided to put on my big girl pants and GO and it didn’t suck and was actually a quick appointment and I lovvvvve the way my teeth feel afterward. So I’m with you!

    • kilax says:

I am so glad you went and had a good experience!!! I hope dentists are becoming more savvy with that now, as many people were in the same boat as you before!
