Random Thoughts Thursday 195

  • A few weeks ago my favorite cartoonist, Nathan W Pyle, announced that he was doing commissions for cat or dog drawings. I was SO EXCITED when I saw that, and asked him to do one of Data. I love how he incorporated Data specific things – his love for toy mice, popcorn, and wearing a tie. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Perfect timing to receive it too. Follow Nathan on insta – he’s great and will make you smile/laugh!

  • On Monday they tore up the street we live off of. I was impressed they did that all in one day. I hope the repaving goes as quickly. Those new paved shoulders are going to be AMAZING!!!

  • Alright, so I’ve gotten really in to the Aurora book (even though I don’t love the ship’s computer narrating it). Apparently I’m so in to it, that talking about it excitedly to a coworker yesterday made her add it to her library hold list, and pick up that day! I got to the page Tom Hanks hyped up, 321… My excitement was building as I got closer and closer. It didn’t affect me as much as him, but I can see why he said that.
  • We weighed the kittens this week and Apollo is 5.72 pounds and Starbuck is 4.84. They’re growing so fast! Sad face! Will they be as adorable when they are full grown?!

That artwork is so, so perfect. I’m so glad you have that to remember him by. <3

    WHAT HAPPENED ON PAGE 321?!?!

  5. Oh wow! That cartoon is so cool!! How awesome that you got that done! I especially love the one of him in his tie – so classy.

Wow! I love the artwork of Data! How cool is that? I love where he is thinking about popcorn 🙂

And now you’ve got me even more intrigued about that book – I am planning to get it from the library when I go next week…

I adore the Data picture – it captures him perfectly!

The kitties sleeping together are so sweet. Our last two really didn’t do that and I think they missed out. #stubborn

  8. Kristina says:

What a wonderful way to remember Data – not that you don’t have wonderful memories of him, but that’s just terrific.
And your kittens are so adorable! Do you think they do it on purpose?

  9. Mica says:

I love the Data pictures (clip art)? That was a great idea to commission Nathan for something that’s personalized and will bring you a lot of joy to look at.

Do you have an idea of how much the “kittens” will be at their full weight? I don’t have a good idea of what a average cat weighs.

Thanks! It does! We hung it up this weekend and I love seeing it!

Average cat weights are all over the place depending on their build! Judging by how petite their mom is, I would guess they’d be around 10 pounds! We’ll see! We really don’t want them to be overweight.

Yay for bigger shoulders! I sometimes hesitate to run on some roads in the winter months because they are dark and have less shoulder. I hate being in the ditch if a car gets too close.

Also that book sounds good. Similar to Illuminae by Amie Kaufman.

    • kilax says:

Oh yeah. It’s so hard in the winter! 🙁 I have to stick to my boring short routes (and run them over and over). Do you have some of those boring short routes?

I will have to look up Illuminae!
