Long Run in CP

By , July 21, 2011 2:24 pm

This week’s long run will be in Central Park! With Tracy! In the 95°F degree weather (<– ugh, let’s try to ignore that part)! It’s an organized long run, so I have a bib!

The bib says I can run 9:00 minute miles! Ha ha ha.

Ha.

Yeah… I can run that – in the fall! Lately, I am lucky if I can get in under 11:00 minute miles. That works for me! I am just happy to be running injury-free.

Where are you running lately? Do you like to try out new courses/trails?

I love checking out new running places – I just found a new (to me) trail in Indiana this week. And I have not seen much of Central Park OR run in it so it should be an adventure. Especially if Gina comes with me and we go get bagels afterward.

That’s awesome that they have organized training runs with bibs! Did you have to pay to participate like a race?
This heat is killing me! I ran 3.5 miles after work on Monday (at 5pm) and then 5 horribly hot miles on Tuesday at lunch in DC. Today nobody wanted to brave the heat with me so I stuck inside on a treadmill.
I have 9 miles on the schedule for this weekend. I’m thinking of pushing them to Sunday when it will be a smidge cooler.
I tend to run the same routes all the time. When I run at home I mix it up a little but usually run from my front door.
The exceptions lately were last Saturday when I ran with a new blogger friend (I drove to meet her) and Wednesday when we tried out a new trail in DC.

You do pay – it was $15 for me. I think they provide water and bag check and all that crap.

Hang in there with the heat! It will get better! 🙂

I am not up to running yet but getting there 🙂 Right now I am up to 14:30 walking per mile! I am excited about my next 5k though it isn’t till September (which by then I hope to run 1/2 of it)! However, training is hard in 100+ degree weather at 8:30 pm —crazy hot summer, I tell ya!

Sounds fun! I love running new places and when I am out of town…I’ve got a couple of work trip coming up and have already been looking up running groups, trails, etc. The miles also seem to fly when I am running someplace new.

Ooooh, you got a bib! I can’t wait to hear all about it. I’m sure you’ll take lots of pictures.

Sometimes I like checking out new places but I also like running the same routes because then I *know* how far a mile is. Sometimes when I’m running a new route I feel like it’s taking forever!

I kind of felt like that a bit in Central Park – that I didn’t know how far I had gone or had left to go!
