Good News Wednesday

By , October 5, 2011 3:03 pm
  • The race photographers took some awesome pics of Erin and me at the Milwaukee Marathon.  And a great one of me at the finish!

  • And then there’s this. Look at my left foot. Sigh. (And Erin appears to be caught mid sentence, ha ha)

  • My sister sent me a preliminary design for the spectator shirts she is making for the NYC Marathon. I think they are going to be really cute (click to see larger).

  • In non-running news, it’s been in the 70s and sunny in Chicago all week! And will be this way well in to next week! Nice weather, courtesy of the Chicago Marathon. Here is my favorite Chicago Marathon tip – run on the part of the street that is shaded (because on some parts of the course, only half the street is shaded, if any). It will require extra energy to run over to it, but it will be worth it.
  • I have been selected for the DC detail I’ve been talking about. BUT I will not relocate to DC. I will do the detail from Chicago and go to DC occasionally. I am still waiting for this all to be confirmed, but I am about 90% certain it will happen (but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t).
  • I start a group strength class tonight! Yay!

Great pics! And congrats on the DC Detail!! That is an awesome accomplishment 🙂

  2. I love all of those photos! They are rather flattering and you gals have giant smiles in them, too cute. Those are awesome shirts, how cleaver. Wish my hubby would have planned something cool like that for this weekend. Congrats on the job, and not having to relocate!

  3. Tracy says:

Those pictures – so amazing!! I love it!

  4. sizzle says:

Isn’t that a big deal, the DC gig? It’s smooshed in there without enough fanfare. CONGRATS!!

    • kilax says:

Ha ha. Yeah. I just don’t want to make a big deal of it if it falls through for some silly reason. Thank you 🙂

    Best race pics EVAH!

  6. Those are great pics!!! I’m super jealous! Every race pic I’ve ever seen of myself has been horrible. And congrats on the DC assignment! That’s awesome news!

    • kilax says:

Oh don’t worry. I have some awful ones too! In fact, there is a really funny one of me in this bunch where I am making a scrunched nose face!

      Thanks for the congrats!

  7. Etta says:

Congrats on the DC detail. If you get it, that is. 🙂 Why won’t you have to relocate?

  8. Erin says:

    What a wonderful Wednesday!

  9. Linz says:

Your race pics are AWESOME! So many great ones to choose from! 🙂 And coolio that you will have a WHOLE fan section. The shirts will make it easy to spot the spectators…love it! 🙂

  10. Those are lovely pictures! I hope you order a few! Let me know if you need any tips whenever you head out to DC!

    • kilax says:

Thanks. I did download them. I liked them so much. And I will let you know if I need any DC info! I wonder how often I will actually get to go there.

  11. Courtney Ilax says:

Love the photos kim. I have a question where did Erin get her brace on her knee?

    • kilax says:

Thanks! Erin got that brace at Sports Authority. Or maybe it was Dick’s. But you can find them at either store! 🙂

  12. Jen says:

Congrats on the DC Detail! And awesome pictures!

  13. gina says:

I hope you and Erin order a picture or two, they’re great!

    • kilax says:

I downloaded them all! 🙂 I thought they were worth it 🙂 We will have to see how ours turn out at the NYC 5K.

  14. Marcia says:

You girls are so cute! Looks like the race was nice and uncrowded. Love the NYC cheer squad shirt! I’ll be there the weekend after. A day late and a dollar short I guess.
Congrats on the DC gig! Awesome!

    • kilax says:

Yeah, the race was not very crowded. It got spaced out after mile 1, and we only really felt crowded when we were near a pacer, or on parts of the street where we only had half a lane 🙂

  15. Mica says:

I love that last one of you and Erin. She is chatting up a storm/speaking very expressively! Are you going to order any?

Glad to hear you’re not relocating to DC. I’d be sad if you left the Midwest. 🙁

    • kilax says:

I did end up downloading all 18 because the price was not too bad imo ($55… okay, that is kind of expensive but much less than Chicago).

Aww, and thanks for wanting me to stay in the Midwest 🙂

  16. Kandi says:

Those pictures are awesome. Maybe the trick to getting the photog to take photos of you both together was to be twinsies.
Congrats on the DC detail!! When you come to DC occasionally we’ll have to meet up!!

    • kilax says:

We totally have to meet up! That is one of the first things I thought when they told me I would still get to go there!

  17. That finishing photo would make me consider buying a picture. It’s awesome!!

  18. J says:

Love the race photos! You always get such good ones! Congrats on the DC thing that is awesome! SO glad you got it AND don’t have to relocate! YAY! double win!

Enjoy the nice weather – it was cold here this morning, but will be warmer starting tomorrow!

  19. Kristina says:

Really great photos! Don’t have anything new to say – but so much fun!
