Things I’m excited about in February!

By , January 31, 2018 5:41 am

What a long month! January seems to be lasting forever (apparently I’m not the only one who feels that way). That’s not a bad thing though. It’s been a fun month, and I am 100% a-okay with time not flying by! But of course, I’m thinking ahead!

Here’s a few things I am looking forward to in February:

  • A running date with Rachel!
  • Teaching three fitness boxing classes, and one indoor cycling class.
  • Valentine’s Day treats for fitness boxing class (yes, I favor them, ha).
  • My parents maybe visiting to help with a house project, and take my classes!
  • A massage!
  • Anne and Terry visiting!
  • Continuing my every day blogging streak?! Maybe?! (This post about what makes me blog more often is still true.)
  • More bowling dates with Steven! We’ve been bowling more and I enjoy it. I wish we could find a league to participate in… that wasn’t a zillion weeks long. And was every other week. Ha.
  • My work detail ending. That’s completely the opposite of what I’ve been saying, but after some things happened, I am ready for it to be done.
  • Having another vegan donut?!

Notice what’s NOT on the list?! The Frosty Footrace! I’ll likely be there, but I just still feel so meh about it all. (Yes, I hold long grudges. Working on that. Maybe having a good race there will help!?!)

Wow, that’s a lot for a short month! And I agree, January is dragging on and on and on.

If you don’t do Frosty, are you guys all just going to spectate when I run it? That’s a lot of pressure 😉

I’m excited to move this month and really excited to visit Chicago (and actually get to see you guys this time)!!!!

    • kilax says:

Yeah, probably. I am thinking I will likely run it, just not excited about it.

Your move is next weekend, right?! Are you guys mostly re-packed up, now? I am glad we get to see you this time too (obvs)!

      • Anne says:

I get that. I’m just using Frosty as an excuse to come see you guys, so that’s exciting 🙂

I think we’re going to move over President’s Day, but we’re getting the keys next weekend and will start taking stuff over to the new place. Can’t wait!

I am glad you are and I apologize that I am so MEH about the race. I am NOT meh about seeing you both!!!!! Steven and I are both excited!

Cool! I am excited for you! Especially that you can unpack all your cooking stuff!

I agree with you on January’s length! Sounds like a lot of fun ahead – we used to bowl with friends every Friday night and it was so fun. But then I started running and having to wake up so early on Saturday meant cutting back on my Friday night activities, and eventually the group broke apart, but I still have great memories of hurling that ball down the lane!

  3. Kathy says:

Oh no they ruined your work detail!! 😠 Guess it’ll make going back to your regular job easier but it still sucks. Oh a massage what is that….its been so long ha ha. Have you any other races planned for the next few months?

    • kilax says:

It will, so that is the silver lining!

Get one, girl!!!!!!!! I have been trying to go monthly 🙂

Hmm. I have a 5K on April 7 and a HM on May 5! That’s it so far! When is your ultra? I love your training pics on insta!

  4. One of my coworkers is in a bowling league, and it always blows my mind when she talks about it! It’s quite the time commitment! I kind of always assumed they were just like one hour on Tuesdays for three months or something like that, but not at all!

    • kilax says:

Right?! We did one once, that was a summer league, and was “short” in that it was only 8 weeks? Or maybe it was 10?! Way too long for me to commit to something that is every week. Ha!

Sounds like a lot of things going on in February for a short month! I hope the race ends up going well and redeems itself 🙂

Aw, it makes me sad that your work detail has become a burden after the disappointing news, especially when it was so enjoyable to start. I’m glad it’s almost over now that you feel this way.

I think it’s so cool that you and Steven go bowling together! That’s such a fun thing to share (plus it’s relatively cheap and not, like, binge-drinking!). Are leagues only a certain amount of time? I imagined they were kind of like “forever” things, like running clubs that you join and quit when you feel like it (or move away from).

Do you have a massage scheduled, or do you just know that you’re going to get one in February?

    • kilax says:

It makes me so sad too! Now being on extra month is kind of infuriating.

It is cheap! We use coupons for $1.99 games. Ha! Leagues are just a certain amount of time, in weeks. But some feel like they last FOREVER. But I bet league teams are more like that -like “let’s always be on the same team!”

I do have it scheduled, for the Friday before the Frosty Footrace 5K. I am trying to go once a month!
