Random Thoughts Thursday XIX

By , August 23, 2012 6:46 am
  • Drinking cold smoothies makes me cough. But drinking warm smoothies is gross. Wah wah wah. I suppose I will continue to cough.

  • I am so tired and out of it this week. Do you ever wake up and the first thing you think is “when will I get to sleep in again?”? The next day I get to sleep in past 4:30 am is September 2 – I get up this early to go to work/or get runs in. I am not running that much though. I’m just busy so I have to fit them in when I can. ANYWAY. I went to order new shorts since mine are so stinky, and the shorts were only available in my size with this fluorescent green stripe. At least I don’t have to worry about people seeing me!

  • Since I am so out of it, I almost walked out of the house wearing this today. Luckily my brain woke up and told me that was a bad idea.

  •  I was in a photo last night that almost made me feel shameful enough to care about being overweight… but didn’t. I just don’t care. This is bad, I know.  Maybe someday…

  • This blog has been lacking Data photos lately. Here’s me forcing him to cuddle:

  • I’m seeing a friend from college tonight that I haven’t seen in about four years. And I am seeing a different friend from college that I have not seen for five years next weekend! I know it’s been five years because the last time I saw her was when she was in my wedding on September 1, 2007… and guess what? We are going to her wedding on September 1 this year.

  1. Oh my goodness. Your mornings are crazy!

I’m attempting my 10-miler tonight in order to be able to relax and sleep in this weekend when my friend is visiting. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve got a secondary mileage goal in there that I may just say “that’s acceptable” and call it a day. We’ll see.

  2. I’m exhausted! I couldn’t get up this morn, which means I’ll be running at lunch and then swimming after work so I can get my biking in tomorrow. I hope to sleep in when Michael turns 4, so I have a little over a year left until he “might” sleep til 7am.

Cold smoothies make me cough too! I hate ice in my drinks for the same reason. I like your new shorts- digging the stripe 🙂

I’m consistently exhausted. I wake up tired. Omg I just want to go sleep in a cabin in the woods with a comfy bed and pass out for the weekend. No effing sirens at 3am!

  4. Marcia says:

I slept 9.5 hours last night and still had a hard time getting up. WTH?? A green strip is good!

  5. Molly says:

Ummmm, we have the same anniversary! (well, we got married in 2006 – but close enough)

    We’re anniversary buddies!!!!

And for the record, I like the neon green stripe on your shorts. It’s so “on trend”. 🙂
Hope you make the most of the sleepy hours you actually get over the next week.

  6. Pete B says:

How about drinking “slightly below room temperature” smoothies? 🙂

  7. Kelly says:

I force Napoleon to cuddle all the time, to the point that I’m training him to cuddle now. I give him a treat when he curls up next to me. Pathetic, but it’s working.

  8. gina says:

The green stripe is probably going to make you run even faster! The fact that you can’t sleep in until after Sept. 2 makes me feel very, very, sleepy. ZZZzzzzzz. You are a popular girl, my friend!

  9. Kim says:

I don’t think that picture is that bad! Your shoulders look strong!

  10. diane says:

I am in awe of your commitment. I had been putting off adding weight training to my fitness routine because I was afraid I would never have time for anything else but exercise anymore. That was silly. I did it, and it wasn’t bad. Although my social calendar is deteriorating. Why is it so hard? Why does exercise and wellness mean giving something up?? (in your case, sleep)
    Sorry–venting.
I did not think you looked overweight in that picture at all, I think you look great and muscular!

    • kilax says:

It totally means that! I can be social or exercise! Or, ideally, do both at once. But Steven doesn’t work out very much so I don’t want to be out with my friends running all the time and never see him… wah wah wah wah 😉 How is your weight training going?

      Thanks 🙂

  11. ChezJulie says:

I walked out this morning without my watch or jewelry. And this outfit really needed it!

I think it’s the picture and maybe the pose, not you. You look super cute in the “business casual” picture above it.

    • kilax says:

I feel really naked when I forget my jewlery! I will touch my ears throughout the day and they feel wrong without earrings in them.

It is definitely not a flattering picture! Thanks for saying that about my red shirt one 🙂

  12. Erin says:

I think that thought every single morning. The next thought is about when I’m going to fit in a workout. Hopefully September 2nd gets here quickly…

I almost walked out of the house one morning with my “house” flip flops on. Yeah, that would have been interesting. Jason almost went to school one day with his slippers on, too. So, it’s not just you 🙂

  13. sizzle says:

Yes, I’ve totally had those mornings (weeks?) where I wake up and immediately think about when I can go back to sleep. Maybe you need some weekend naps?

I know everyone has their stuff about their bodies but seriously, you’re not what I would call fat. You’re perfect just the way you are! And who cares – you work out and take good care of yourself.

    • kilax says:

I feel bad for taking naps. I cannot tell if I am tired or avoiding the world. But I do think I need one this weekend. I love naps.

Thanks 🙂 I usually don’t care about my image at all, but in that pic I expected to feel strong because I can lift so much weight and all I saw was that I can do so much but don’t look it at all.

  14. I have the exact same reaction when I consume cold things, especially ice cream! I always thought I was so weird for coughing. I’m glad I”m not the only one. 🙂 And I absolutely love your Millennium Falcon shirt. I also purchase running clothes with fluorescent colors to make myself more visible. I’m sick of almost getting run over.

I hope you can find some time to take a nap or two!

  15. Laura says:

Pretty much every day when I wake up I wonder when I will get to sleep in. And then I remember – NEVER! HA! Then again I’m waking up at 7:00, not 4:30! So I probably shouldn’t complain. September 2nd is a long ways away!

  16. I love your random thoughts! And I love pictures of Data! 🙂 I feel like the amount of effort and time I put into my wardrobe these days is getting worse and worse. Summer in our office is “casual” and I take full advantage of that – for better for for worse!

  17. Oh man, all I want to do is sleep in right now, but staying at my parents house is killing any possibility of a decent nights sleep. I swear, my brother puts on some kind of band performance in the kitchen every morning. It’s really a lot of fun. 🙂

  18. Losing Lindy says:

ok, I think the picture is a bad angle, I have seen other pictures of you showing your muscles..I know you are strong..don’t worry about that picture

  19. Mica says:

Eeww, the thought of drinking warm smoothies just made me gag a little. Why?!? How?!?
